Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

are you joking.. the halo 2 and 3 hunters shoot long bursts and larger streams of fuel rod making it much harder to dodge. they are also much bigger and take a lot of damage to down unlike the pathetic halo CE hunters who died in one shot. Halo CE hunters were just guys you jumped around and laughed at

those streams were laughable at best, they didn't have near the damage potential of the fuel rod cannons from the first game. if you got hit by one of those babies you died, end of story. i've been tagged by the streams from the new hunters and walked away from it (yes on legendary). their melee capabilities were improved on the follow up games though. the first time i got backhanded by one of those things i was like "k, gotta think of something new" hahaha.

I actually prefer the CE Hunters to the H2 version. I like the way they move better, and I like the shuffling sound better. The cool thing about the H2 Hunters is that the head dress part moves more when they are in motion, but overall, I like the originals best.

As far as sight goes, I do not think they have "eyes" so to speak. The Hunter is not one creature, it is basically a big worm bundle, I have a feeling they sense the presence of an enemy another way. It helps to explain why you can sneak up on them, cause they cannot see you but may sense movement around them. I am guessing of course, but who really cares if I guess!

You are correct, they are not one whole creature, they are two organisms that function in unison. I guess they don't really have to see with eyes, they just have to be able to move and shoot really. Not every living organism sees with eyes, i.e. snakes have infrared receptors to help them detect their pray at night.

[Neutral statement]: As stated by the local center of information, The Mgalekgolo (meaning "serpent union") are assemblages of colonies of Lekgolo, a species of small colonial worm-like creatures, into a larger, and more powerful organism. The Mgalekgolo is known as a "Hunter". It's the only Lekgolo form seen in combat, but, actually, it is it's least common form, in which the individual Lekgolo form a humanoid shape approximately twelve feet tall, which can then be armed with an Assault Cannon, armored, and turned into an extremely powerful ground unit. This Mgalekgolo form is employed by the Covenant as heavy infantry. When a single colony of Mgalekgolo becomes too big, the colony will divide in half to create two independent Mgalekgolo colonies. These colonies will share an extremely close and mysterious bond, referred to only as being "bond brothers" or "Mates". Mgalekgolo that have split into "bond brothers" are recognized by spiked appendages that rise from their shoulders, which means that they are bonded to another Mgalekgolo. Groups of Lekgolo worms have been observed in the core of all (during the what you call "Halo 3-era") Scarab walkers, though this type of colony has yet to receive a name. It is unclear what other types of Lekgolo exist, as these colonial creatures have yet to be directly observed outside of combat.
[Uncertain statement]: I'm not sure what you were asking for. I could not process Xboxmax1's post. Ah, very well...

I agree with this, except for one thing: If you ran into a beam on Legendary in Halo 3, instant death. It's either completely useless or a Superweapon.

Just message me on live.

I prefer Halo 3's Hunter's, they dance around more, they bleed more, and you can break off they're back plating.

I think you should burn your halo disc for wanting something this skill free, host dependent, repetative, stupid, and overall bad. I hope you burn in the hottest fires of hell for presenting such a terrible idea. In conclusion, jesus died for everyone but you.

Ninja Academy

Anyone find that they are harder to kill on Easy than on Legendary, im not sure why but they are, and it perplexes me...

  • 05.02.2008 7:07 PM PDT

In easy, you're not careful. This just means you don't take care to avoid their melees or shots. In Legendary, you don't want to die, so you keep your distance.

I don't think they look retarded...I just think they look skinny compared to the other 2 games! : )

halo 1 Hunters were too easy to kill with ranged waepons, and Halo 2 ones were two dumb to do anything if you were hopping around them in circles. Halo 3 hunters could coverup their weak spots from gun attacks, but even in Heroic it is to easy to take down a hunter with melee, all you had to do was jump over them, melee them in the back, and jump sideways. Halo 1 Hunters would shoot you though if you hopped over their heads. Halo 2 Hunters had the ability to really screw up a plan, but there were too many of them throught the game, and they had no idea how to dodge a rocket.

have you guys noticed that there are more than 20 hunters in haloCE and in halo3 there are only 8 this is stupid i want more hunters !!!!!

  • 05.18.2008 7:05 PM PDT

In Halo 3, they're much, much harder. That's why there's less.

  • 05.18.2008 7:23 PM PDT

Their gun was so much cooler in halo 1.

I think that Halo 1 hunters are far more deadlier than Halo 3's hunters. YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO ALWAYS BE MOVING TO ESCAPE THE FUEL ROD GUN and th spray one is far more slower th Halo 1's projectile one.
I wish you could rip the fuel rod gon off a dead hunter's arms...
(sorry for caps, I'm too lazy to rewrite).

I MUST disagree here. Frequently I would stand still in front of not one, but two Hunters in Halo CE, and they would consistently miss. In Halo 3, they instantly hit me.

Yeah. One thing they did though in halo 1 was give me a much stronger impression they were going to kill me. Cowering behind cover as fuel rods battered the scenery all around me, making my screen shake... real shock and awe. Why do they remove stuff like that in a sequel? Exactly what is the thinking behind, well we could keep this cool feature or we could you know, forget about it?!

wow, i want your copy of halo: ce. even on easy, if i stood in one spot they'd cream me in one blast.

although behavioral patterns improved on the whole through the games' succeeding iterations, I prefer the first game's hunters. being shorter only made them cuter. which added to their deadliness.

were they perfect? no. melee-able, good. pistol-downable in one shot? not good. but nearly everything else about them was better in my opinion. As far as the stream cannon's concerned, well, that's harder for me to decide. the ballistic variant seemed far more powerful, but the streamed variant could cause damage to you if you caught just an edge of its comet-like tail. it was not, however, necessarily lethal even on legendary, so long as you took care to avoid the whole blast.

i don't know how they "see", but they do indeed have white eye-slits in their visors.

  • 05.21.2008 12:21 PM PDT

Go behind one with a pistol and you get a 1 hit kill.

Excuse me, who are you? Not to be rude, but when was the last time you played this game? True, if you stand a few hundred metres away from Hunters, they'll hit you, but that's because of the splash damage(something Halo 3 lacks), not a direct hit. You are more likely to get shot head-on when you're trying to sidestep them.

its been proven that if you stand still, H1 hunters won't hit you. i tried and after about 5 mins one hit the ground right behind me, causing damage. but they never get direct hits
