Okay everyone here's the deal:
I love playing Halo with my friends for obvious reasons. The carnage, the yelling, the look on peoples faces when I kill them for the 3rd time at their own base. Its so much fun as I'm sure many of you know. I always played Halo with, at the most, 5 other people until I found others to play with. I must say a 16 person CTF always gets my blood going. Well, anyway... I played Halo on the internet and found that to be just as much fun, if not more fun with the extra weapons, maps and the fact I can't here whining from people when I kill them for the 4th time on their own base with a flamethrower. Well, here's my point of discussion.
The other day this guy I used to know said him and his friends formed a team and wanted to know if my friends and I would play against them. I said no problem. First we played a CTF, flag must be at home to score game, at Wizard. My team won 10- 4 with surprising quickness (surprising because the other team assured us of their skill) Finally, we played the same game but at Blood Gutch. This is how I learned of their "skill". First, they managed to get hold of both tanks, (thanks to my friend who believes he's immune to rockets) and hid them in the cave closest to the red base. They jammed them in their so they couldnt get out. Next, (after some moderate scoring on my team's account) they hid the rest of the vehicles on top of the hill behind the red base (in case you haven't guessed, they were red team). Finally, all they used was the pistol. That's the only weapon they were good with. If you got close enought to use the rifles or shotgun, you were the obvious winner. But that was rare because they only used pistols.
First, it takes all the fun away from the game. If you sit in my base and kill me over and over with the rocket, thats okay. If you block my base entrances, thats cool. If you block my teleporters, thats also fine. But to use the pistol ( which I'll say Bungie can bite my ass for that weapon) over and over and think you're a halo god, is pathetic. I'd get more fairness with a 15 VS me game. So, my question to the masses, you, is this:
Is this a good way to play the game? Yes, results are there. But am I the only one that thinks it saps all the fun out of Halo? Just something to think about. Thanks in advance for your comments.
