If in Halo 2 the humans and covenant have land mines to plant in place that would be cool..... be driving in a warthog or ATV and theres a sudden explosion of plasma and you flip...or an elite come riding along in a ghost and all of a sudden BOOOOOOM!!! the ghost explodes

That'd be cool. You're leading a convoy of Warthogs and all of a sudden fellow Warthogs all around you start blowing up and flipping. That is suspense.

If he was in a Ghost then he would just float right over them. Actually all Covenant vehicles would just go over them.

good point........ but what if the mine had a laser that goes directly in the air and when it is run through it detonates

The laser goes 5 feet in the air. Or make it proximity.

I think that the air the ghosts and hover vehicles push down to make them float is strong enough to detonate the mine. It might be useful in HALO 2 b/c in Halo 1 like half the levels are go in and get out

It wouldnt know that it was run through b/c theres no detection unit at other end. Kinda like a garage sensor. If the TWO sensors dont receive a laser from the other side, it reopens the door. So unless the mine had some sort of sensor floating completely still receiving the laser, it wouldnt matter how high the laser went.

I am prepared for all people that are about to say, its 500 years in the future of course they invented something

Ignore these four words.

If they put mines there should be 3 types. remote, proximity, and laser trip mines.

No land mines. Just. no. Land mines would b teh n00biest of weapons due to the fact it'd take no skill to use. It'd be a cowards weapon. that and people might just put them everywhere, in excess, and that'd be too much like ut 2k4 or tribes. Original halo didnt have them, and no one complained. They don't need to be in halo 2
