I don't have a problem with replying to every comment or stating how many downloads you get. They are reasonable things to do.

What I do object to is titles that proclaim the file is the best thing since sliced bread and the internal combusion engine combined. Honestly very few files are that good.

The other thing I hate is people who keep bumping themselves. For example, a thread might look like this:

1st post: *Describes thread*

2nd post: Here's another file relating to it *link*

3rd post: Come on guys this is a great file.

4th post: Most amazing thing ever.

etc...

If no one cares, let it die.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

To be quite honest, changing the thread title to advertise that you have a lot of downloads doesn't bother me that much. A picture with a lot of downloads is likely to be pretty good, and I want to be able to find it faster. I DO, however, HATE the following technique:

░░░▒▒▒▓▓▓Check out my screenshot!▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░

As far as saying "thanks" after every post, I think it's annoying, yes, but certainly not a violation of any forum rules unless you are saying "thanks" to your own alternate account. Which happens all the time.

this is a test to learn how many posts are required to receive a title.

i have not noticed that problem, but making vacuous posts like stating "thanks" repeatedly counts as bumping, so feel free to report that when you see it.

If it's blatantly obvious that the person is using that post to bump their thread, then yes.

I try not to let things like that annoy me, but it does get a bit under the skin when they post "thanks for the comments!" after a few weeks of no new posts. I'm a stickler about bumping -- I have a problem with people who think that their post is so much more important than the posts of others that they're willing to displace those other threads to get more time in the spotlight for themselves.

Oh well -- if it's an obvious bump, I'll report their post and go on my merry way.

Somewhere out there... in an alternate reality... Marty decided to stay in the ad jingle business, bringing about an age of amazingly orchestrated Pampers commercials.

What annoys me is people asking "Nobody likes this screeny? :(" as a bump.

Also I hate people who advertise, like:
