I was watching NBC Nightly News last night and they had a story about NASA sending a rocket into space to destroy an asteroid 68,000 light years away. Pretty neato huh?

Replace "destroy" with "study", "68,000 light years" with "83 million miles" and "asteroid" with "comet".

It is called operation Deep Impact.

Actually, it will not be blown up. They will create a crater, but will not destroy it.

dmbfan09 you win some pie for being smart and gain my vote in the who will become teh next mod vote.

Don't put any money on that.

Edit: And thanks for the pie. :)

EditEdit: And by the way, 83 million miles is still only 1.412x10^-5 light years. A light year is 5,878,499,814,135.1 miles (9,460,528,404,879.4 km).
