Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

The Report button works in ways that nobody truly knows, other than the moderators and the web team. Basically, when you hit the Report button, you are making the system aware of a problem. And if enough people report the post/thread, then somehow, the mods will know of the thread, take a look at it, and use their own opinions on the issue.

But is there a box that comes up that says if you're sure?

Ok, I was just wondering because some people have pop up blockers that don't show the box.

Once a post is reported more than five times (I believe) by separate users, then it'll show up in a list the ninjas have over reported posts. So a post will have to be reported several times before the moderators know that someone have reported it. If too few people report a post, it is probably not so urgent to get to it. Seems like a good solution to me.

EDIT: Typo.

The report system doesn't work exactly how members interpret it to work. For instance, most people would have the understanding of reporting a thread and then seeing it locked later on. However, that is not always the case because a factor that must be taken into consideration is the number of reports a post gets. Once a post exceeds "x" number of reports a moderator is then notified to look into the situation at hand. The Forum Ninja determines as to whether or not it is a thread that legitamately violates the rules and from that also using their judgment makes an appropriate decision.

If you feel that a post is in anyway harmful to the community, such as threats, harrassment, release of personal information, ect... send a private message to a Master Forum Ninja. The message should include the user's display name, link to post, content that violates the rules, and any other miscellaneous information you feel should also be forwarded to them. If you have any further questions about contacting the Bungie.net moderation team and administrators, send me a private message and I will be more than glad to help with what I can.
