OH WAIT NO THAT JOKE HAS BEEN MADE TWENTY SIX TIMES IN THIS THREAD ALREADY WOOPS

none of that was ever the issue... of course we cant do anything about it... this guy posted, asking what the tags were about, i told him, and bam were criticized for some stupid -blam!-, along with other irrelevant things... i dont recall ever saying its a copyrighted tagline that "professionals" use... its just a marker for our group, and everyone getting pissed off should deal with it

We on Bnet should all revert to normal titles with no modifications.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

And you can't control who posts pictures with your tag on them. Someone who isn't even in your group (i.e. Me) could go and post a -blam!- screenshot with [SP] in the title. What are you going to do? Nothing, really. You could report it as spam, but it's not spam, so we won't lock it. You could contact a mod and ask them to lock it, but that opens the floodgates for anyone to contact a mod and ask us to lock anyone's threads.

We do.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

We do.

If you're implying that you do indeed control who does and does not use the prefix, then you are horribly mistaken.

Because the use of prefixes is gray territory as it is, any inter-member action to prevent a user from placing a prefix is itself illegal. Spamming their PM box is harassment, posting threats, insults, etc. in the thread is flaming, bumping, and a host of other broken rules, creating a thread addressing the issue is another problem, as the issue itself is an internal matter and has nothing to do with the community as a whole. It could also be viewed as trolling, flaming, and singling out members in a thread, which are all covered by the forum rules.

There is simply nothing that could be done to prevent someone from using your prefix.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying we understand that we CANNOT prevent the use of this tag.

1 group does it and now everyones gonna be doing it.

People will try to get noticed in anyway they can.

Thats why I use bittorent, I'm almost the only person with any Halo 3 content on there..

Montage preview is currently going around atm.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

SP has formally put a statement in our forum/rules that the [SP] tag is to be removed. Should this tag rear its ugly head again consequences will be dealt out from the groups moderators. (Unless the tag is used by non-members.) So [SP]'s stance is the tag will not be used.

Frank O'Connor is a 12-year veteran of the videogame magazine industry and has therefore never worked an honest day in his life.

Use the tag in your post or sig. I mean I think it's cool that you have a group that takes pictures but the tag in the topic title was annoying. But if you put it in the description I wouldn't mind.

not to be horribly pessimistic... but there are so few of those out there, its prob not worth the effort...

anyway if you see any more [SP] titles still up, we are in the process of concinving them otherwise, and the funny thing is some of them arent members, so now its useless for them anyway :D
