I really wanna know what the thought process was behind it.
For instance - did they simply just go with a "general FOV" similar to that of competitors? Or was it to "get people closer to the action" and make the game feel more immersive and thus more tense and exciting?
But regardless of that, I think they just totally screwed the pooch with the standard FOV (non-widescreen). I know people tolerate it, but no self-respecting developer should let a FOV that narrow pass muster. Master Chief might as well be running around wearing a box on his head with a pinhole in it.
