Looks like it to me. Probably to keep people from posting offensive images

Edit: I used an image tag and it was auto removed

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

With the amount of immature people that troll and spam these forums, it's not a great surprise that they don't allow pictures to be posted.

I think it's great that they don't allow this.

Why not just ban the offenders? Let the mods take care of people? It's lazy just to cut out a basic feature like that.

All forums, excluding the gallery forum, do not allow you to post images because many people would manipulate the feature. Newcomers could post inappropriate content through pictures/images, which would affect the Bungie.net forums and community in a negative way. You may post images in news article though by using the correct formatting.

Ouch. So they don't even think they would be able to adequately police it? The guys in charge of the forum must have no faith in the people here.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Why allow images quite assured in the presumption that it'd be abused by a few, when they can simply avoid the problem altogether and not allow images to be shown? Why sacrifice the aesthetics of neat text-based hyperlinks simply to save a mouse click or two? Would you rather see a revolting 'shock' image without prior warning or would you rather be given a chance to avoid seeing it by not clicking the link?

I am quite sure there are positives to allowing images but the above points are, perhaps, a few things to think about.

Good point you made there. I'm not big on seeing pictures posted in the Forums, but what about letting group administrators post pictures in news articles?

blahoogana (bluh·hoo·gan·uh), noun - er, just call me Josh.

Well, uh, there is a way to post pictures in groups, but, uh, yeah. . .I'm not going there.
