I think whoever's willing to fork over that kind of cash for charity deserves it.

It's for charity. The idea of adding Recon into the mix is so it generates more money for a good cause. If you don't have that kind of money then there is nothing you can do.

EDIT: Most auctions are a competition of money BTW, whoever is willing to pay the most wins. . . :/

As do I, I mean it's a color pencil drawing of Mister Chief... but with a noble cause. I think the person deserves the armor

So I guess the one with the biggest wallet gets it instead of the one with the biggest heart for Halo. :(
Yup, that's how an auction works.

Should I really be caring about this story? If he got it he got it, if he didn't he didn't. It is Bungie's game they can decide on who gets the special armor.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

Why must people complain about recon so? It's only an armour, and most likely you won't follow and gawk at the person who is wearing it in Matchmaking. Sure everyone would wear it if they had it, but it doesn't give you extra perks or anything.

What?

Reiginko is pretty much saying that whoever buys that, isn't just buying the Recon Armor, but instead; a very rare and one of a kind drawing. As well as donate to charity. Charity being the keyword. If someone is willing to pay a few thousand dollars for a drawing, and to top it off when the money goes to those who need it, the person shouldn't definitely get Recon Armor. They have a big heart, basically.

Edit: Put bit instead of big in the last sentence.

I am a Floodian

Yeah the idea of charity is to give money without receiving something other than personal happiness for it.

I don't understand this thread. How does a little thank you gift for paying $2000 for a painting act as a detriment to the gift? They aren't PAYING THEM! They are giving a nice thank you for supporting a charity............. $2000 is a lot of money. It will probably skyrocket to like $10,000 or something like that (maybe more). Anybody who does this probably wants a collector's item, or the feeling of "donation".

Well isn't it smarter to host an event that is guaranteed to get people to spend their money rather than just asking for it? Would you prefer Bugnie sold it for their own personal gain?

:/

Idk, the rush for Recon takes out a little of the "love" for the charity in my opinion.

They did say valuable community service.

So I guess the one with the biggest wallet gets it instead of the one with the biggest heart for Halo. :(

i agree that it takes the idea "{im helping dying cchildren out of the mix but if bungie wanted to help promote charity they should have monthly recon bids but thats me(im not saying that so i can buy it i dont have 1000 dollars for masterchief armor)

It is kind of sad that whoever has the biggest wallet gets the opportunity to this armor. I don't really know though... it is a righteous cause that the money goes to but I want a Mister Chief drawing for less than a grand or two. I am on a college student's budget as well and don't have that kind of cash just waiting around.

I highy doubt that any of the normal hals fan will bid on this for the sake of charity, they want its simple as that. Now if someone would come along and fork up $100 000 which obviously is much more than this things is worth then I might consider that its a helpfull soul we´re dealing with.

I didn't do it, I swear; if I was supposed to do it, then yes, I did it.

=)

Only kidding, of course. I know what you meant, and I'm pretty sure Havok knows what you originally meant now too.
