mendicantVOTARY
Votary of the I AM

Magyar ODST 19th Shock Troops Battalion

My mom would pay for the shipping and handling.
I think I hear the pitter patter of little ninja's feet....

Anyway, if everyone that was worried about "becoming a mod" helped the mods by messaging them we would have a much more successfull forum. If you think about it, one would, in a sense, be participating as a mod by helping in this way. Stretch your brain farther, I'm sure it'll make since soon.

That would be to much trouble, and plus what good would that be? I think a lot of people see being a mod as living the high life. Ask Yoozel for one, he will tell you its not. Being mod for a day? So for one day you get to go around locking topics and moving them, and who ever wins would end up bragging practically the whole time he is a mod. Not worth it in my opinion.

Besides, there are some people you definitely do not want as mods who could "win".

They might crack on just trying it out, and they would do a hostile take over of the forums. That's stosh's job.

Are there plans to enlist any more forum moderators? *knudges stosh and yoozel with elbow*

  • 06.16.2004 2:57 PM PDT

A few new ones have been enlisted.

They've pretty much been picked, unless one bails or something I doubt we'll be choosing new ones for a long time!

I sent you one. This is what you said: (the one about mithrandir1)

I'm gettting there I'm gettting there. He will most likly be banned on Monday.

See? You ain't left out.

EDIT: BTW, you need to run spell-check again. You spelled "likely" and "getting" wrong when you sent it to me. =P

No what he did was he sent Sketch a message asking to blacklist him. The Mods cannot ban people. Only Sketch, Frankie, and Achronos can. But Mithrandir1 was banned today, at exactly 8:02, by Sketch.

I think I would be a good sub-mod, I can usually make the spammers shut up using my rather large vocabulary that they can't understand. lol

sub mods are a bit useless, they just might aswell be full mods.

On the other hand.... if the sub-mods could just get their title "member" changed to gaurdian, than perhaps flamers and spammers will stop a bit sooner when they see a "gaurdian" (or sub-mod or whatever you call em).

But what i truly want is: replacement mods when all the current ones decide to leave and visit E3 again.

That's what you recruit new moderators for. *grins*

Gosh guys, honestly. They have picked the mods, and we have a fine group of people about to do their Job. Sorry to those who didn't get the job, but here's my advice to you. Be a more active member of the forums in a positive way, and maybe you'll get into the next batch!

Also, if I ever want to shut someone up, I am either very blunt or use quotations from the bible, such as "Blessed are the meek" Matthew 2

I just would like to say that I love the "your mom" jokes.

EDIT- Oh, and Yoozel, do you play WC3:FT online? If so, what is your name? Sorry, I can't seem to have private messages work.

Hey, could we start a Septagon Clan on WC3:FT?

On the other side, I just have to advocate again that the best people were chosen for the job. The next few people I would have voted for would have been Rip Saw, Banshee Barron and Live Killa, and hopefully, if they want to, they will get to be mods in the next batch (when Halo 2 comes out most likely).

I think that the new mods are intended to be enough. Basically, don't expect any more appointments any time soon.

Six (well, seven) moderators was deemed enough for forseeable growth. In other words (and this is for everyone), stop asking to be one - it isn't going to happen.
However, you can still help us by warning us of problem posts and users. Like JAF does.
