First off, im not a dude I'm a girl. And secondly, what is wrong with liking Japanese rock? I think it is simply amazing.

my use of the word "dude", has transcended gender implications, dude.
and i find japanese music on the whole (except for the traditional drums, opera's, etc.) to be horrendous. it's often so comical that it's surreal. but there is one japanese artist i've heard that specializes in "noise." can't remember his name off the top of my head. his work is...interesting. i have to admit, that the meaning behind it eludes me, but it's still very interesting.

Don't diss Japanese music. Yoko Kanno is amazing. She did all the Cowboy Bebop music (In collaboration with The Seatbelts). The guitar player from Trigun is awesome too. In fact Trigun is just awesome in general.

Seoul's the name of the capital of South Korea, isn't it? Is there a city in Japan named Seoul, too?

Mmm, I like sticky rice. Some Thai friends introduced me to that stuff a few years ago. Does anyone here know where to get that particular kind of rice grain here in the 'States?

I heard that the Seatbelts are named for their practice of wearing restraints during practice so as not to be all over the place. Can anyone verify or discredit? Anyway, the music in Cowboy Bebop's great- among other things in the show.

to make the rice sticky, you just leave out the oil when you cook the rice. i personally use good ol' mahatma brand rice.

Huh. That's not very helpful for me since I can't leave out the oil. The way i've been cooking rice doesn't involve any oil; I just steem it. Are you frying it or something? Could you give detailed instructions?

You do have a right to share your oppinion, but it's not right to tell people they have problems just because they dont agree with it.

I would love to go, but only once I have a fair understanding of the Japanese language. When I go to Minnesota my cousin might teach me this summer...

And my cousin, for all those who think watching anime makes you an unpopular geek, is now a blackbelt instructor in Shaolin Kung Fu, knows Japanese, and has a Philipino girlfriend - all thanks to inspiration from watching anime and playing video games for his _entire_ childhood.
