Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.

I would expect it would be a while since Contact Harvest came out not too long ago.
Not necessarily. It is true that Joe Staten just released Halo: Contact Harvest, but the arguably primary author of the Halo novels, Eric Nylund has not released a book in the series since Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, which released in early fourth quarter of '06.
Reading through Nylund's personal blog, I can tell you that he has recently just finished a book, titled Mortal Coils. Unfortunately for the fan base here, this is not a Halo novel, and by "finished" I mean he's in the final refining stages.
He does mention, however, that he spends his available free time on unmentioned "future projects of interest." Since Nylund bases a good portion of his career writing for video games to some degree or another*, there's a promising chance that we may hear of a new Halo novel in the future.
*Nylund has done work for not only the Halo series, but also for Gears of War, Crimson Skies, and many other non-video game but science fiction projects, such as Battlestar Galactica.
