Because he's in the navy, and when you are in the armed forces, you have no life.

You are a mindless machine, constantly working.

You follow stupid, inefficient, and utterly useless military protocols wherever you go, and you listen to your commanding officer no matter what he tells you to do.

Such is the life of a military man.

yea it does suck and well i dont have a phone number at all and im not even sure if i am allowed to call but i have sent him letters everyday since he left but since he is in a new location i dont have the address yet so im kinda holding off on the letters till i get some word of his new address and he said in his message that he left that he would try and talk to me on the weekend and i saved the message so i can listen to it over and over and yea

and griffin i dont care if people flame at all i just try to ignore stuff liek that and also my fiance is a going to be a cook on a sub so yea its something he wanted to do in which i think he had all this planned out before he met me and yea

If you think that then you're misinformed or a fool. I assure you that the majority of military protocols have very specific purposes and are done with the hopes of achieving maximum efficiency.

To a civilian (the same type of person who honks endlessly in traffic) things like military protocols may seem "stupid, inefficient and utterly useless", but I blame this on your lack of understanding.

Out of curiosity, can you bring forth any example of a "stupid, inefficient and utterly useless military protocol?" Preferably from the US military.

"No one pisses off the cook."

My uncle's in the coast guard. His ship's captain has a... little problem with the chefs and have been waging their own little war. When the cooks put the cakes (corn bread, whatever it happens to be that day) in the oven the captain orders the ship to tilt a certain amount of degrees to the left or right. Once they're done baking the cake is lopsided and is shaped like a wedge.

Also, cook isn't a good position because you have the longest shift. You're the first to wake up and one of the last to go to bed.

lol wow that works. My fiance even wants to be a cook when he gets out of the navy and i think he actually wants to start his own little business and stuff which i though was kewl and i was even thinking of joining the navy and i decided for it but now i am rethinking it again cause i would liek to be some type of liek computer programmer or somthing along those lines which i think would be really awesome. Mostly cause im kinda into that stuff even though i knwo liek nothing about it all but computers just seem to fasinate me and yea

i beg to differ it's a hard job but it pays off in the long run.

Perhaps. I would suggest a more marketable MOS.

yea if you wanted a good paying job you would have to find somthing better then a cook liek maybe somthing with the heavy weapons or maybe somthing with electronics and yea the pay also depends on your rank
