Additionally, turning off motion sensor is a good way of adding a risk factor, especially if you decide to arm the humans with longer-range weapons. That way, the humans can't always be laughing and picking off the zombies from a mile away, because there might be a zombie sneaking up on the side.
Even if you're using a shotgun, it may help a bit to turn off motion sensor, if that's the on-edge, suspenseful "is someone going to leap out at me from behind this corner?" type of gameplay that you're shooting for, no pun intended.
