Oh yea the flood forum banner was also updated. I hope you jerks are happy.

Mr. Jerks to you. Yes, like having "The Flood" back. While we were called the Flood Forum somebody started organizing a book reading club and matching polo shirts - it was horrifying...

Hello.

Well, I feel Bungie did good on the update.

It is good to see that Bungie allows you to see the last reply again. Glad they fixed that.

Nice guys! Diggin' the new additions :D

Can't wait to see what ends up coming in the Publications.

Hmm...so that means I'm (minus the WMVP) a Heroic Member?

My RT account page.
My Grifball user page.
So if you really want to get to know me, you're welcome to add me anywhere.

Hmm. I like it.

I didn't even realize the changes, and suddenly it dawned on me.

It's not like I haven't been lurking, either...

EDIT Oh, sweet, SonicJohn. Yeah, you're Heroic. And I think I'm Legendary.. =)

They should add and ad(s) that link to the Code of Conduct, Terms of Use and a definitive FAQ on the rules and expected regulations of the Forums.
No thank you.

Why not? They have ones that link to jobs at Bungie and what not. Why not a good ol' reminder on the rules. Doesn't seem like enough people read them anyway...

Speaking of which, i wonder when the COD and TOU will be updated, they are outdated with the microsoft split.

When will the group banners start working as "back to forum index again", not a big deal but it has become a habit so I dont see why its not working aymore.

  • 02.16.2008 1:09 AM PDT

Now you have to click on the name of the group in the banner, and that will take you back to the forum index.

My concerns are this, firstly why is it that the trust colours from the main forums corresponding here too. How stupid is it for people in the main forums to appear to have higher ranks than the admins of groups, should it not be the group admins job to be able to assign these colours?

Well... it isn't stupid, because they DO have higher trust ratings than the admins of the groups. And the colors aren't security ranks - member, heroic, legendary, and mythic members are all the same security level ("Member").

It is called "positive reinforcement." And although it was somewhat unintentional, right now I have no intention of changing it. The trust rating is global to the site, and actions in groups have an affect on it, so the positive reinforcement should not be confined to the public.
If that is the case then I think the system needs revision. People ban because you disagree with them in some groups . . .

I'd like a bit of clarification on this. Certainly it isn't something so bad as to say that bans in private groups or promotions effect the trust rating. My concern being wanton abuse/manipulation of the trust rating. Of course, I'm sure these effects were seen, can you shed some light on this?
If that is the case I think the system may need revision. Some pople ban you if you disagree with them in some groups.

Edit: Sorry for bringing about this old topic, I just thought this quote deserved some explanation as it is unclear.

Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clichéd lines.

I like the changes. The Bungie ad things on the side make the forums much better, imo. I'm pretty much used to this format now. And it's pretty good now that I've gotten used to it.
