My concerns are this, firstly why is it that the trust colours from the main forums corresponding here too. How stupid is it for people in the main forums to appear to have higher ranks than the admins of groups, should it not be the group admins job to be able to assign these colours?
Well... it isn't stupid, because they DO have higher trust ratings than the admins of the groups. And the colors aren't security ranks - member, heroic, legendary, and mythic members are all the same security level ("Member").
It is called "positive reinforcement." And although it was somewhat unintentional, right now I have no intention of changing it. The trust rating is global to the site, and actions in groups have an affect on it, so the positive reinforcement should not be confined to the public. If that is the case then I think the system needs revision. People ban because you disagree with them in some groups . . .
I'd like a bit of clarification on this. Certainly it isn't something so bad as to say that bans in private groups or promotions effect the trust rating. My concern being wanton abuse/manipulation of the trust rating. Of course, I'm sure these effects were seen, can you shed some light on this?If that is the case I think the system may need revision. Some pople ban you if you disagree with them in some groups.
Edit: Sorry for bringing about this old topic, I just thought this quote deserved some explanation as it is unclear.
