Subject: Achronos, how EXACTLY does the post count work?

Does the new system run on posts that you make and the number of threads you start, or does it just run on the posts you make?

Thanks.

I'm sure it also involves amount of time having been on B.net, and the amount of bans you get.

I have started a total of maybe 7 or so public forum threads in the year i've been here, and that didnt stop the shiny Herioc member thing up there.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

Why would he answer your question? So that people can spoil and abuse the system? Think!

In other words, no ones knows and will ever know how the system works.

Eeh, post count? It's for any thread you make or any reply you make. Groups don't count.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Honestly, I don't think it works off of post count, or threads created. It has more to do with how you post, how helpful you are, and how accurate your reports are. At least, that's what I think.

Edit: Added a sentence fragment; changed posts to reports

People already abuse the system. I was just wondering, however I will be very surprised if he actually does answer. He has better things to do.

How exactly are they abusing the system? Would you care to explain?

Bumping for no apparent reason. Making threads that are no doubt never ending and replying to EVERY SINGLE POST. Useless trolling.

We will soon be seeing the signs, but it is worth it.

Well...if you're talking about the trust system, I certainly am not in any position to make assumptions about how it works. However, what I can say from what I've surmised is that your post count is not as much of a factor as your tenure here on bungie.net and your recent history with warns and bans.

For example, some Mythic members have only contributed twenty or so posts, but they have an exemplary record when it comes to punishments being applied to them, and they've been around for five plus years.

Simply relying on post counts to determine trust rating wouldn't be effective. Using other criteria such as recent history with warns and bans helps to assure that the people with those titles are being given good trust ratings because the quality of their posts is high, and because they are generally contributing intelligent things, moderators aren't punishing them and lowering those trust ratings.

Maybe its more like people are trying to abuse the system. I mean how could someone truly abuse it if we don't know exactly how it works.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

...There's no post count?

The trust system is based on the number and severity of bans/warnings over the amount of time you have been here. I am sure those are the primary reasons, if not the only ones, but Achronos isn't getting into specifics. Oh, I think linking your gamertag helps too. He has explained the ban/warning thing vaguely (so people can't try to exploit it), and confirmed that posting plays little, if any, role in your trust rating. Groups and whatnot may help, but that would be even easier to exploit and so he's staying silent on that.

I wish there were some way to see how many posts you've made because I'm curious, but it probably won't happen as it would cause confusion over the trust rating titles.

I believe that the trust, in addition to time here, bans, and activity (posts per period of time), relies on group involvement, such as belonging to groups and being a group moderator.

ORLY?

Is there any thread that backs this up, or are you speculating?
