Everytime I try to install DirectX 9.0b or 9.0c, I get an error message about software not passing logo test but this can't be right because microsoft makes this driver so what can be the problem! I am hoping that this is a common problem with an easy solution if not I would accept any advice you guys can give. Thanks,

The New Guy

Heyyo,

Make sure you get it straight from a M$ website, or even better M$ windows update so that it should be the right version. Also, your drivers, are they all certified? if not, it's probably them acting weird, but you can just hit 'continue anyways' and it should be ok.

I think it is my drivers but this box doesn't give me the 'continue anyways' option it just stops the install right there! And none of the drivers I install from Nvidia will certify. I am just stuck with no where to go.

Thanks everybody! I had to call tech support and I will give the solution for my problem in case anybody else has this problem. Go to windows update and search for 822798. Enter the "You cannot install some updates or programs" link. It will give you a few remedies for the problem but mine was I had to rename my catroot2 folder. What this is, I have no idea but it got my directx to install so it is alright with me. I proceeded to play Halo for three straight hours and it was worth the wait. I appreciate everyone who tried to help thanks! To answer Iamwhie's question I have an Nvidia Geforce 5200. I know its not the best card but it played Halo good enough for me. (Once I got it running!) lol! Peace!
