Yeah, I used to have this problem. Did you get a new graphics card recently, what model is it? ATI, NVidia?

On my old Nvidia card, it'd just make you look transparent, but on my (new..ish) ATI card, it has the full distortion effect.

I don't think that Halo suppors the active camo shader effect with Nvidia cards (that may or may not be the case), but will work with ATI card. And do you have the latest drivers?

If you have a GeForce 6, or 7 series card, no drivers will alleviate this 'glitch'.

But you can use the DXTweaker program, and force your nvidia card to act like an ATI card.
