INFORMATION :
Today, some of you may have noticed a bug in the forums allowing you to edit a random member's post but not your own. It happened to me in this thread: proof.
This may have some of you confused, which is why I am going to explain everything. At least, offer a possible reason why this happened.
THIRD LAST HAS BEEN MADE A "SECRET MODERATOR":
It is clear that I have been granted limited powers to edit at least Kritz's posts. Maybe Achronos has been watching my activity and decided that I am suitable to edit the posts of some 'problem members', one of whom must be this Kritz person. Of course, I am still just a "member" with the same text and boring title bar so maybe this is a secret. I certainly hadn't been told about it. This is probably why so many people are confused right now.
WHY KRITZ?
Ok, this one is a little more tricky, but I will do my best to explain what's going on. In the thread i linked to, Kritz's post was clearly not in line with the serious nature of the thread. The trust system has recognised this and given me the ability to edit this post to rectify the incident of "humour" and "good-naturedness" and "an actual enjoyable environment" which are all unwelcome on bungie.net.
WHY ME?
The most logical answer I could think of is that in the same thread, I had acted respectfully to the ~Mythic Members~ who had come up with several important rules. Furthermore my cooperation with these new rules marked me out as prime "secret moderator" material.
AN IDEA... LESS SECRECY:
While this is clearly a welcome addition to the Bungie.net web forum site, it might have been more effective if i had been informed of the change before dropping me in the deep end. I didn't even try to edit the post in question because I didn't know what the proper guidelines are for action in such a situation.
