Everyone talks about Blood Gulch strategies, what are some methods that work well on Sidewinder? I usually have someone whore the powerups on our team and get them every time they spawn unless a teammate is on the other side closest to the other base. That way you have an attacker with overshield and invisibility for each assault. What is the best way to attack? What is the best way to return with the flag? Do you guard the portals with a player or vehichle so everytime the enemy uses it they get killed? Does anyone go up the middle and use the rocks for cover? We usually spread out the team so 2 guard, 2 are at the portals and 4 go through the caves. What do you do?

The only time I play CTF is on Xbox, so I only have 2 person teams, but I'll give you my advice anyway. What my friends and I do is get onto 2 person teams. Then my friend and I would get on a tank. One driver and a passenger on the pods. (they are likely to have a sniper or a rocket launcer) We drive to the other base and the driver stays while the passenger grabs the flag. When the flag carrier gets out, they have an armored ride waiting. It may be slow progress back to the base, but there is a cannon and a machinegun on that tank, not much could take it out. Especially if you have a good driver like me or the enemy is behind you. Whenever my friend and i do this, the score is 3-0 at the end of the match. Thats all i have to offer in my little Xbox Halo world of CTF. Hope it helps.

My tactic is to have someone waiting on the other side of the powerups, and you throw the flag through the grate.

* Get a Ghost from your base and drive to the powerups.
If you know about passing through the powerups bars using a Ghost then don't read the white section

* a) If you are the blue team then you need to face the Ghost at the wall (parallel to the bars).
b) If you are the red team then you need to face the Ghost at the opening that you just came through (parallel to the bars).
* Strafe towards the bars and at a precise time, press X to get out of the Ghost.
* The motion of the Ghost will push you through the bars.

PS. If done too soon the ghost will most likely kill you by crushing you up against the bars. If done too late you will just ride up on to the top of the Ghost.

* Once through the bars pick up the Active Camoflage and Overshield.
* Go into the enemy base and kill and closeby guards and defenders (best is using melee).
* Take the flag and climb up the ladders.
* Jump out of the top floor of the enemy base. Hopefully any respawning enemies will assume you've gone upstairs for the teleport route and follow.
* Head back to the powerups area. Go towards it.
* You will be able to get back inside the Ghost (through the bars).
* Head back to base for a point

the best strategy for ctf sidewinder would have to be absolute sneakiness. grabbing the invisibility and the over shield is probably the best bet when trying to the flag. i like the idea of going up stairs and just dropping down, making them think that you have gone throught the portals. i dont play ctf sidewinder much, but when i play i will have to try that. the whole idea of using tanks really is not a good one. the ghost can easily slip behind it and restrict movement, and, a sniper can easily take out driver/passenger. be sneaky about it, and dont be afraid to use vehicles.

What i find works best is one defens, someone takes the warthog up the middle with a gunner, and somebondy goes through the teleport or the caves. Then the person up at the teleport or caves snipes the other team while the wart hog makes a mad break for the enemy flag, once he has it the defender goes to their side of the bars and the flag person (usually forced to walk as the driver would have been shot) goes to the other side of the bars, toss it through. The dead driver becomes the new defender aswell, so your base isn't defensless, and its an easy score.

The person going alone may want to get the power-ups or the rocket launcher.

If you want more fun you can also drive the warthog right through their base openings at the front and do a little drive by, or stop, but watch out for gernades.
