I use the report button on my posts and regularly administrate a group called popular fusion... I have rarely if ever locked a thread in that group so I see that there are still good members, its just that most of them have migrated to groups where they can block out all of the spam and hate This is why i want groups to continue.

I took off from this forum about half a year ago, and I'm only now returning. You know what? People were still posting the same thing about the forum getting worse and all that jazz.

And, of course, they were absolutely correct. :D

Truth in a bag.

(random yet funny signature goes here)

People will always be jerks on the internet. It comes with the territory. No true place is safe anymore on the world of internets. As long as someone can be anonymous and say anything they want without consequences out side of the occosional ban that can just as easily be avoided through alts, there's no real reason for them to care about you and how you feel. So sometimes you just have to grin and ignore it as if it never happened. Plus that report button, that shiney new button down there vvvvv, it actually works.

Thats the sad part all people do is hide behind key boards.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

Here are some other opinions:

The last forum I was truly active on was the Septagon, and now even that's being taken over. The Flood, I think, held back the H3 forums for longest, but we all know what it's likenao. Why do you think groups that were never payed much attention before are now getting 200-300 members?

Don't think you're the only one. I used to be a celebrity on the Halo 3 forums. Haven't heard of me? It's because I was a celebrity in '06. And THAT'S because that's the closest year that I could get people to listen to me. The forums are done, gone. The only thing we can attempt to do is band together in an effort to make the Groups like the Forums.

I saw this in the community thread. I dont blame you, i think that now that the Halo Trilogy is over people are losing interest in the community here at bungie. Bungie needs to do something for the community if they want people to stop complaining. (ie: Stop being pricks and announcing their new project so we have something to look forward to or Give people Recon or any number of other thing.

No names next to them for numerous reasons.

So...just so I'm clear, this is a complaint about people being immature?

Welcome to the internet.

Was it this bad a few years ago? No, it wasn't.

Damn Bungie and their ability to make games that increase the fanbase!

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

Staff Writer and speedrun record holder at highspeedhalo.net

Ignorance is the true enemy of all things.

Rocking Bungie.net for over 8 years!

I'm not really sure.

The community in general, to me, certainly seems a lot calmer now than it did in around late 04 early 05. It was terrible back then.

Then again, there also seemed to be more really interesting intelligent threads made.

Perhaps its just the rose coloured glasses talking, or perhaps it really has mellowed into a sort of "middle-ground" type place.

Of course there are good members, but there are a lot of bad members as well. Check out the Halo 3 forum, Screenshot forum, or Flood.

has anyone noticed that there is always a spike of immaturity and useless threads when bungie releases a new game (ex 04-05 Halo2 released) now 07-08 halo 3 released so i guess its goin to die down soon (i hope)

Don't send me group invites.

As for the Flood, it is getting a tiny bit better, but not too much to make a difference. In fact, one of the groups I was in mentioned another group called the New Flood. Yes, the New Flood. I thought, what the heck, I might as well join the group to see what's going on. I was shocked at the amount of flaming and hate going on there. I saw there the more well known members of the Flood posting there, it wasn't pretty. There were threads containing hate posts about certain moderators, or any specific member. And they even have Master Forum Ninjas and Forum Ninjas. They didn't even moderate actually. The level of maturity is horrible in each, how many threads has Pezza made about it again?Hah, you have no idea.

Just to add on to what 808 said, don't talk about what you don't know. Innoscent fun that's all. Get educated before you chastise people.

Was it this bad a few years ago? No, it wasn't.

There wasn't nearly as many people a few years ago. Trust me, I was there.

While I admit, it was a bit better, it was also smaller. I've seen these kinds of threads, without fail, at least once a week and it's always the same. "The Forums are going downhill!" "We need better threads!" "I'm sick of immature kids posting on the internet!" It's easy to blame everyone else for the problems with the Forums, but unless you, and everyone else who cares, can be a good example and post intelligently, frequently, and with a bit of originality, people won't care what you say.

You can either do something to change it (and I don't mean make an extensive post complaining about it...which you've already done), or you can leave, as many members have.
Everyone should strive to abide by the highlighted section.

If you invite me to your group you will be blocked.

Well, if you had stuck in the New Flood you might've noticed a few members promising to post intellectual threads in the Flood.

We go to the NF to have fun. The community there is close-knit and very strong. We miss the old Flood, but some of us just feel left in the dust by the influx of newer members. Most of the hate is in jest, and if it is not it is usually well deserved.

um, sorry to be an idiot, but what's HFCS?

Super secret ninja hideout

They talk about plans to take over the world in there...

I remember a while back that the top forum thread there was a topic talking about taking over the Flood. All the moderators got pissed about the thread we made about it on the Flood.

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

Didn't matter. They phailed.
Weaklings.

Well, the way I look at it, theres always going to be those types, people who can't post intelligently and that sort of thing. And theres also only so much we can do about it, which is (a), don't break the rules, and (b), use the "Report" button feature.

As I wrote before, this is pretty much the last forum that hasn't been overrun by dumb people. I mean, just look at the H3 forum: Currently a topic asking whether you'd take a girlfriend over H3 or not, multiple Recon topics, and questions that could have been answered within a minute of B.net or Google searching.

How the mods do it I will never know...(though I'm guessing it's a secret Ninja energy drink)
