HALO

We need a type box that appears when you push the report button that way can use the box to tell the mods why we reported the post .This way we can make it clear why are reporting posts. Because sometimes it’s not always clear.

A reported post is a reported post. The mods decide what to do with them... whether they need to be moved or locked, it is to their discretion. Making a box to explain would take too much time.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

If it isn't clear what rule is being broken, chances are it isn't worth reporting.

I believe there should be some kind of checkbox or something too. It would help users know whether or not the post they are reporting should really be reported.

Maybe something simple like..

What infraction does this post violate?

[ ] Bumping
[ ] Flaming
[ ] Off topic
[ ] Other
I don't know, I know someone can think of a better check list but you get the idea.

I'm with Styles P on this. If I had to Mod these forums, I wouldn't want to have to read a different written response for each reported post. A check box would be ideal, if this sort of feature is to be implemented. That way, it's faster for us to just check those violations that apply, and on the other side, mods can just see at a glance what violations the post has been reported for, and how many times.

A check box would be fine. We could just do with somthing.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

It seems like too much work...for both the ninja's and the people who report.

It is.

If go to a reported message. I read through it and see if there is any kind of violation in it.
If I see there is, I deal with it. As stated, a reported thread is a reported thread. The checkbox is pretty much useless.

Besides, nine out of ten times I can see what rules are violated in the blink of an eye.

Yeah, the thread is not a maze, if a Ninja can't find the violation, then:
-They shouldn't be a moderator
-The issue is not substantial enough to attract their attention

A box or a checklist, either would be a waste of time, time that could be spent working on other threads.
