its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

Looks great.
Though, it's kinda hard to distinguish the questions from answers.

Moderators also work closely with the Bungie online team. Some faces you can expect to see are; Achronos, lukems, SketchFactor, Frankie, Ferrex, and the elusive web engineers who scurry the boards like tiny red spiders.

Isnt Master one of them too? I saw him the other day.

Don't forget running turtle too =Þ

That's a great FAQ. If you could force new members read that before they could post, most of the spam on the site would be gone.

Personally, I think it would make more sense in this order:

-Choosing avatar, linking gamertag, changing gamertag, Septagon next to gamertag
-Explanation of moderators
-Spam, reporting, etc.
-Add a section on recon/flaming helmet here
-7th column

That would just about cover everything.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

That's a great FAQ Yoozel, good job. My only request, is to change one thing. Now, part of it says this:
How do I change my avatar?
To change you avatar, go to your profile page, click the edit profile button located under your personal banner. The first page that will load is the avatar page, sift through until you find a suitable avatar, select it and remember to save your settings!

* Can I use a custom avatar?
Only Bungie employees and Bungie.net staff members are permitted to use custom avatars.

* Why not? Other sites let their users upload their own avatars.
We are not allowing custom avatars because inevitably it creates too many problems. Like it or not, plenty of people will upload things that are obscene, offensive and in violation of our code of conduct. We would then have to constantly police all of these files and spend all of our time making sure nobody was doing anything wrong. There's also the risk that certain files could break the site or cause unexpected behavior.

We will, however, let you guys create and submit avatars which could potentially be added to the existing library if they meet the criteria. These will become public domain, which means anyone can use them, they will not be personal.

* Cool, so what is the criteria for new avatars and how do I get them to Bungie?
If you want to create an avatar for Bungie.net, you should make an image file that is 90 pixels by 90 pixels and no more than 20 KB in size. The image should obviously fit our site – i.e. Bungie related in one way or another. We will review and if we like it, we will add it to our library. Naturally we are trying to maintain quality standards for the site.

When your file is ready, you can send it to 7themes@bungie.com and we'll check it out. Please be patient, don't expect it to show up on our site immediately.

* How can I make my player model my avatar?
If you'd rather use your Halo 2/3 Emblem or your Halo 3 Model simply return to the avatars page via editing your profile and select the feature you wish to use. Don't forget to save your settings!

Once I've made my Bungie.net Profile and linked my Gamertag, is there any way to change my display name or change the Gamertag I currently have linked to my account?
Unfortunately Bungie.net does not allow users to change their display name, once you've created it you're stuck with it.

If you would like to associate your Bungie.net account with a different Gamertag you can find out how to here.

I've been playing online and seeing people with a cool symbol next to their name, how do I get one?
If you'd like to display the Bungie.net Logo next to your name in Halo 2 or Halo 3 simply go to your profile, then to edit profile and then to Profile Information tab. From there you can select to Customize Halo 2 or 3, don't forget to save your settings or else it will your profile will not update.

How do I link my Gamertag to Bungie.net?
For information on how to link your Gamertag to Bungie.net please refer to our Help section. If you require additional assistance please refer to the Community Forum.

However, logically, shouldn't it be something like this:

I mainly say this, because you are introducing linking the gamertag before the explanation; which may very well cause confusion. So, switching these two sections would eliminate any issue someone may have; not to mention it just seems weird reading it the other way. Other than this, some type of spacer would be nice. Other than these two thing, I think it's great; very informative.

I'm not sure if this would qualify for what your talking about but I can't find a Halo 3 RSS feed. Does one exist?

hey...
i just looked at it and as a some what new member but most importantly a web browser
i think if you underlined the topic titles as well as bold text if would sttand out more (from all those fish in the sea) since you can't seem to change your colour of text (salmon).
And if you're not much of a reader like i kind of am and more visual than you tend to look for things that stand out before you actually consider reading it. No ? You agree ?

any way
just a thought

I get more ass than a toilet seat.

The only problem that all of you are clearly overlooking is most members that ask the questions on the FAQ don't ever look at the FAQ.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

The quote box idea or the underlining of subject titles idea would help seperate the content, making it easier to read.

Perhaps the "How do I link my GT" question should be listed before the "Once I've made my Bungie.net Profile and linked my Gamertag, is there any way to change my display name or change the Gamertag I currently have linked to my account? " for posterity's sake. In a similar vein, perhaps the Moderator stuff should come up later. I'd say its not as important as the profile information, so the profile information should be listed before the moderator stuff.

Otherwise, I don't have anything to add, aside from something about why you can't ask for/discuss Recon Armor.

Though, I don't know how we could encourage users to actually read the whole thing before posting. We'll probably never solve that problem. Even if the web-team displayed it prior to publishing your first post, people still probably would not read it. Though for those who actually become interested it will help immensely, as it always has.

Just tell people at the beginning following these rules will help their rank eventually increase (It's telling the truth and it's the best idea I can think of).

I'm a serious dude, so what?

good FAQ!
now, a couple of things:
in the following sentence, what you have works, but it took a couple of tries (the "of " after respectful is odd to read):
As always, there is a fine line to be respectful of when helping other members out and users should be careful not to cross it.
probably should be rewritten like:
"When using Bungie.net a user should always be respectful of others. The line between respect and disrespect is very fine, and a strong community member should never cross it."

in the troll section, you have:
memebrs
I think we all know what you meant, but... fix it. oh, and personally i would lead the paragraph with "do not feed the trolls"

From there you can select to Customize Halo 2 or 3, don't forget to save your settings or else it will your profile will not update.
this was in the "bungie.net logo on your matchmaking name tag" section. the bold section should be deleted. you might also want to mention that if someone edits their profile, they should check this setting to make sure it hasn't reset. unless they've fixed that, i know it was a bug for a short time.

I know, it's a little nit-picky, but I figured you asked us because you wanted perfection.

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Why don't you break up the information into categories like:

Introduction
Getting Started
Navigating
Problems

Those would be one post, they'd be links to different posts within the same thread. Kinda like Anchor links, but not really real anchors.

Introduction could then be broken into like:

Welcome to B.net and the Forums
Brief Cover of Rules and Moderators
B.net Etiquette

Getting Started:

Rules - What you can and can't do.
Search before you post.
How to Post Topics, Replies, and Edit Your Posts.\

Bread Crumbs

Problems:

Report As Spam - How and When.
Contact a Moderator or Admin - How and When.

So, confusing as it is, here is a short demo:

Nice job so far. But, Is 7themes@bungie.com an email to send group themes to?

I believe Stosh is handling those personally right now in a thread he created until something can be done that is more official. I'm sure it is still checked, but I wouldn't be on frequently.

Okay... so I've taken a stab at doing a rough update on the FAQ.

I'd like to see what you guys think...

What information is it missing, what should be added, is the format to hard to read, does it make sense? Also... what order should the information be displayed in? What is most relevant to first signing up on Bungie.net? Feel free to post all suggestions and ideas, I will be updating it as often as I can with new information and the feedback you provide. So don't hesitate to help out!

I know off the top of my head I need a new "report picture" and maybe the astricts weren't the best idea. Also... was aiming for a format such as:

---main topic
*Sub topic
*Sub topic

Doesn't seem like it worked out so well.

why dont you just ask cryptic. He knows best about what do do. lol
