*Ensemble

It's being developed by Ensemble not Entourage. Just though I'd let you know.

Subject: Concerns about Halo Wars and Entourage

Halo Wars is by a developer called Ensemble, not Entourage. You might want to go and look around again. There is and official Halo Wars site out there somewhere too. I think the Bnet homepage has a link.

I'm watching the show. That's why I subconciously typed it like that and made a fool of myself.

News? Podcasts? Machinima? Active forums? Competitions? Jaffa Cakes!? OMG!
Thee Warriors!

Best. Mod. Ever.

Ensemble pay a great amount of attention to their community, just as Bungie do. The Halo Wars site has a forum where you can post suggestions, although we are in a the latter stages of production currently so chances are slim of anything actually penetrating to the final build.
There's a group called 'Halo Wars RTS' here on Bungie. That's the best resource for Halo Wars on Bungie.net. I won't link lest the banhammer comes staggering by. (In my chapter list <_<)

Subtle....
I'll check it out, though I run my own group and am active in a few, so I'm not sure I would have the time to get too involved.

Will Bungie provide any type of resources or otherwise for the game?
And it is good to know that Ensemble has the same kind of fan relationship as Bungie.

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

Ensemble Studios has always been close with their fans since I was playing Aoe2 AoK back in 2000.

They take suggestions from experts at the game, and their own respective forum from their site and create a patch that pleases mostly everyone. Currently, Aoe3 is their main game. They have an ES employee dedicated to an expert gathering community site to interact with the community there and gather feedback. They often look to the Aoe3 community to see what is wrong and how it can be fixed or changed. Sometimes they host online tournaments and give out prizes to the top 5 players.

Halo Wars information doesn’t need to be here on B.net. ES is developing the game and has an appropriate site to release information and progress they’ve done on the game. Thunder, a long-time ES employee who I remember was around in AoK (2001) is the community guy sort of speak at halowars.com. He’s a great fellow once you get to know him and read his monthly updates, but of course Frankie still beats him ;)

I have some questions about Halo Wars. I know it is being primarily developped by Ensemble. I don't know much about Ensemble as a Developer, but do they have the same absurdly involved relationship with fans that Bungie does? Bungie has made a game that they can improve over time through the feedback of their fans in this community, and I hope that Ensemble has a similar quality.

Also, will Halo Wars information be available here? I kind of hope that Bungie will update it because I am comfortable in this community and in using it as an information source. I know Bungie is unique in how involved it is, but I hope that Halo Wars is not hung out to dry as far as Community Involvement.

I hope I don't sound like I'm advertising, but WyattFNearp has set up a great Halo Wars group (called Halo Wars RTS). He even interviewed one of the Halo Wars developers and landed the group on the front page of the Halo Wars site.

Sounds like they're in touch with the fans fairly well. ;)

Just a concerned citizen.

EDIT- because I was stupid enough to call Ensemble Entourage, which is the TV show I am watching. Subconcious stupididy....

Whoever moved this, thanks,
And sorry if I put it in the wrong place.

Anyway, from what I hear, I don't have to worry about Halo Wars having problems. Not everyone is as good as Bungie, lots of developers will just throw something out to you and forget it *cough* Gears of War *cough*.

Supporting Bungie for 11 years and counting.
Halo 3 Beta Tester (Friends and Family Invite)
Halo: Reach Beta Tester (Friends and Family Invite)
CompoundIntelligence / Ascendant Justice / High Impact Halo
Praetoria Guard / The Digital Set / Rooster Teeth Productions

Ensemble has a great community base, similar to Bungie's forums as well. Im almost sure that if there is anything very important happening with Halo Wars, Bungie will notify its community.

Ensemble studios made AOE which is one of the best PC RTS games. In fact, it pioneered a lot of modern RTS techniques. I only hope they get rid of the "unit cap" and stuff like that. I dunno if Bungie will do more then stuff like they do for games like Shadowrun, or the McFarlane stuff. Well they probably will do more then they did for Shadowrun, but Ensemble may be a good place too find Halo Wars information.

Halo Wars will have a unit cap... every rts game must. I have been told by Thunder that it is as much for memory restrictions as it is for game balance. Though we really don't know what the caps are going to be in the campaign or in the MP.
Also, you really must go to the afore mentioned sites for information. I have been told by ninjas in the past to not post HW related threads, though it seems that it is becoming more acceptable in this forum. I wish that bungie endorsed it more here, especially since they are involved.
BTW thanks Zag and Ciaran for pointing people toward the light :)

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

Don't worry about Halo Wars Ensemble know what there doing. I'm sure Bungie has talked with them about the game. It will be good I preview on the game (you can get at the marketplace) its looks really good.

S3NATOR has brilliantly taken the next philosophical and theoretical step, and advanced mankind once more. For that, I'm forever grateful.

*lollernadoes*

Ensemble is a very good RTS developer. I wouldnt be worried about them screwing anything up. They are just as meticulous as Bungie. I have played all of their "Age of" games and they are very detailed and balanced. I believe Halo is in good hands.

I am...whimsical today.

I really can't add a lot more here than another voice backing up Ensemble, all the good stuff's been said. They have at least 4 core RTS games with numerous expansions (I still remember getting the Virgin Territories CD from my cousin) and great chunks of experience.
