Yep stickies are deffinately broken somehow.
Also.. i find that in lots of mele situations both parties now die which sucks.
I actually preffered it before the fix now :-(

As some1 who loves to stick people, there has always been the problem with sticking some1 and them not dieing, I have a few clips of this happening way before the update was even mentiond

Tool of destruction

Ever since the Update I cant seem to kill anyone, the game completely felt different last night I couldnt win any battel, it felt like the other team always had host no matter what and it seemed to make a huge difference.....

Xaelra - look I enjoy reading posts like this and I'm not going to get all articulate and long winded I just think you should know I am as I would consider a very good melee artist. As it took me a long time to get good at it as a defense when I was about to die. This new system takes that away from a player like myself I can no longer survive by jumping over and doing a melee faster than my opponent is expecting it, or side dodging and pulling one off as they turn because the window of opportunity is there for them to retaliate and I die a lot due to this I have also seen many a teammate about to die and even with low shields I have been able to melee to save them. My thought is this if I can do 70 pts of damage with a melee and my opponent has 69 hit points and I have 1 hit point, why am I not rewarded for being faster. Now that ever eluding hit point system and life regenerating system and how much time it takes has resulted in multiple dual deaths and me dropping dead while someone does a melee to the side of me just because the program is there for the push of the button within that time frame. Sorry but as someone who really never cared what my rank was and doesn't veto any map I enjoy them all, along with all the weapons on them making for wonderful surprises both ways. People get used to the way a game is played and then once they do and trust me I have died more times by someone else being faster in melee, it just took so long to learn. Now I die to things that don't make sense. What this means is the long range sniper is going to do well as they don't care to melee, the grenade will be used a lot more because who will want to get close and as for shotty. Well imagine being me and the shot gun is in hand as someone charges you with an assault rifle shooting you rush, fire and melee start to back up as he should be dropping and suddenly lunges with a melee and you both fall dead. Why should this happen well according to you because of this 3 milisecond thing, I don't know the last time I did anything by the milisecond. What I am trying to say is yes the guy on a rant should not go off about everything but address what is really bothering him and you need to let us have our opinions because what has happened is wrong. You can't force everyone to learn to play based on one style and then just arbitrarily change it due to a few complaints. A game is what it is, now due to this patch I have no option and will be forced to play this new way is that really fair after I bought the game for what it was, When I learned to play the old way after much struggle and death. I guess because there will always be yes-men like yourself who prefer to be a follower not a leader than I guess yeah we will all have to learn to get used to being used for dollars and then tossed away as soon as we show any dissatisfaction. I hope they make a lot of new money by saying Halo is fixed, this marketing tool will make more people buy, that haven't already just to see if they stand a chance instead of learning like the rest of us. Sorry but that is how I feel and good luck major, ripping into higher ranked players is just proof that you really needed an advantage to beat them. Ok I lied it is long winded.

Mikey the fool - You have more melee kills in ranked than any other weapon, is that not reason enough to side with the melee fix or not fix problem. I think you will soon find it as frustrating as the rest of us the more you play as your stats suggest, once you see what takes place in some situations.

Subject: Halo 3 AutoUpdate - Does 'melee window' appl to local play,...

I'm curious ... does H3's ~100ms (3 frame) window to detect a 'simultaneous' melee apply to lan/local play, too? or does that only apply to online play? i.e., does the game shorten/eliminate that window for local play, where latency is a minimal issue?

I'm not a MLG'er, but since most MLG tournaments (the big ones) are all local/LAN play, will they need to melee differently in that context?

I have the same situation as mikey the fool, yet I do not think it is reason enough to side on this. I personally did not have a problem with it, but I did SEE the problem with it. I am glad they fixed it, because the only reason my beatdowns were so high, was because people forecd me into the situations. Now with the prospect of ever loving death hanging above every melee'rs head... I think the game will become a little more tactical and skillfull. My kpd may go to -blam!- for a while, but I will be a better player for it.

Whoever melees a ton, their k/d ratio is going to go down. They're basically going to die everytime they melee.

You're selling a game because you have to relearn something? You should be happy that it's changed and you can have some replayability in a genre that rarely has it.

If you're unloading a full clip with an AR without pausing to put out short bursts, then of course you're not going to hit something at a distance. The AR is a spray and pray weapon if you hold down the trigger. Try breaking up your shots into controlled bursts, you'll be more accurate at a distance. (Imagine that, more accuracy with timed bursts, just like any realistic automatic weapon!) Speaking on the other weapons, have you gone back and looked at those videos to see what really happened? I do whenever I see something that I think didn't add up in game, and the video usually tells all.

I won't comment on the sticky grenades other than to say Bungie said that we'd have some laggy games until the update fully takes effect. If the stickies not going off continues, you'll see me right beside you up in arms.

What is the big deal with changing every weapon? Until I see something from Bungie about these changes I won't bother coming up with reasons why I can't shoot straight.

And if you're not sticking around for this discussion, why even put in your two cents?

People are not 'basicly' going to die every time they melee. Most of my melee kills are a follow up to a flanking maneuver I've used; I rarely get into melee contests. Someone either gets me, or I get them. Any decent player knows that two people running straight at each other shoots AR rounds and then meleeing... well they both deserve to die for doing something so tactless.

look I'm not saying the melee fix isn't a good thing it just takes away the time we put in and makes it yes more tactical if that is to say now ranged weapons are all you want to use. I would also like to comment on the grenade thing I have seen a lot of them go off from a dead body, this does suck. There are more stickies not going off this I agree also and have seen but this has also happened forever including with frags.

When I say distance for the assault rifle, I mean like 6-10 ft away.... where before, if I started shooting first, he'd be dead..... but now its unload a full round in him, have to reload, then bam I'm getting killed because I have to reload?

And me NOT putting my 2 cents in before I sell it is like people not putting up negative feedback for a product they bought on Amazon

I recon the update fails.. say your playing a game of MLG TS the scores tied up at 49-49 and this "poor" melee update comes into action and you both die, what happens then? You cant tie a game in MLG you cant tie a game in any playlist... CTRL + Z the update...

Kudos to Daddy Parslow for sticking up for my boy Wells and the true, but few others I’ve noticed also with valid points in here, gamers out there who appreciate what a game should be and how it plays from the very start.

And everything that I would want to explain about this update and the game-play aspect previous to, Parslow hit every single detailed aspect that is the difference between you winning and losing in this game...so i'm just gonna qoute that...give it a read if you haven't already, i should post it 1000 times!!

This was not a minor update. I'm pretty sure everyone is as pissed off as me about this update. First off, what the hell is the problem with having the guy who beats down FIRST win? Doesn't that make perfect sense? Think about it. I get that there are bad people that do play this game, but that's their problem.
maybe you should try reading the update details moron. The first melee DOES wins, the only way it's a tie and both die is if both players strike within a teeny tiny itsy bitsy window of time. we're talking about milliseconds here. this is not a "noob fix", this is a fairness fix. if you really understood what has been changed you wouldn't be bitc.hing. and for the love of god stop wasting everyone's time with your "list", no one cares. bungie is not going to tailor their game just for you.

again we have someone cursing out someone else for having an opinion. I don't think we are all stupid but as we all play we will learn yes to get around it once more, but stop giving each other crap and learn something here. This does affect many players most of which tried to get better at a game they maybe started off playing poorly and then found a way to get kills even though they can't snipe or use the BR. yes we all learn to get better at what we are not good at, if we didn't we would never excel as a race but the real arguement here is why change the game sooo drastically that we feel cheated why not one little thing here and there.

And for my perspective which you don't gotta read if you don't want to...

But with so many "positive responses" to this update (i'm not hating chill out, i never played any of the previous Halo games and i will admit that i flat out suck at the game but i pick up on a lot of things within the game-play and have adapted to the TIMING <especially of melee execution>, and STRATEGY within the game itself enough to become an average player (ONLY ON GOOD DAYS) and i understand everyone has their own point of view on v1.1, and trust me i've heard a lot of them from random players online and friends that are pretty damn great halo players to say the very least, but have tossed their games aside because of this update and it's kind of sad that within 24 hours, we now have a completely different game-style to learn and .adapt to..(which from what i've seen so far isn't any better, but probably worse than it's predecessor)

<I mean no disrespect to anyone including Bungie and it's employees....
.I'm not gonna sell this back just yet, but i'm hoping this is resolved for the amount we pay for the game alone and X-Box Live services>

So when i downloaded the auto update it has not worked. I start searching for a a match and i get one but it only lasts for a few seconds. I can hear and see all of the people playing and the map always changes and just boots me back to the matchmaking page. i have already did the a button d pad thing and cleaned my disc and disc tray.
