Not another one of these "Bnet is dead" threads, and this one has anti-member stuff in it too. You think Pezz would have locked it.
This one is actually true.Seriously, I get the impression that--like impu said--the moderators are nothing but janitors nowadays. But sometimes it's tough to remember, although they're moderators, they're people just like you and me. And because of their status (chum-puke text), everyone thinks of them as an official mouth-piece, or starts nut-tagging them like whatever they say is WOG.
I'll say it again: They're just people, but it seems like they can't really have an honest say anymore. Most mods don't even feel like they're part of the community anymore. No, not because they haven't posted in a long time (there are reasons that happens. Life has precidence over their virtual life), but because they always seem to be a target of hate, nut-tagging, or "OMG, he's a mod, so he's always right and we should always agree". And it seems like--as much as I hate saying this--the community is better off without them saying something sometimes.
What happened to this place? BNet seems more like a tireless, endless chore to them. And of course, being a moderator is a job, and a job is work. But this looks like slavery to me.
I probably have no idea what I'm talking about here, but that's the impression I get from what I've seen happening, and even from their input I've seen over the years I've been here.
Then again, what can we expect from a large group of anoymous people?
*hugs evilcam*I think it's the fact that, because they are now moderators, they cannot enjoy themselves like they used to. It's a "job." It shouldn't be, but it is.
I'm sure they get tired everyday of locking threads and handing out bans. Recon seems to post often (sometimes), and when he does, he usually has a happy tone to his posts. Most of the mods are usually always serious unless they're talking to another mod or Achronos.
That's my take on it.
