Hehe...it's gone on for four pages, and I haven't even read a half. But I'm gonna voice my opinion anyways.
Here's why I like to diss on rap:
I am in a band. I know what kind of effort goes into writing lyrics, vocals, instrumental parts, and then making them all come together and making them sound good. Rap takes no such effort. All you do is get 3 notes, jumble them around, and add a very boring drum beat in the bacground consisting of nothing more than a few snare and bass drum beats every one or two counts. If you're not even talented enough to do that, then just rip off a few riffs from a classic rock song. Then add a bunch of pot smoking, materialistic, selfish, sex-crazed (well...actually...rock stars are the same in the sex-crazed aspect...and usually the pot-smoking one as well...but they at least can write music) bufoons (with little to no actual education) who can neither sing, write decent lyrics, or pretty much change the pitch of their voice (which in turn makes the song even less interesting, as crazy as that seems) to rap about one of four things (every single rap song falls into one of these categories)
* having sex with "-blam!-es"
* being a "gangsta"
* being rich
* getting high off of something
Then they make zillions of dollars off it, dress in crazy clothes (I'm talkin' like seventeen shirts, four pairs of pants, $18,000 dollars worth of "bling", a doo rag, a hat, worn sideways, and some nice shoes), buy more cars than any one person needs, and smoke insane amounts of pot. Every once in a while, they get in the occasional gunfight, during which no one actually gets hit, because every "gangsta" is a retard and holds his "gat" sideways, which makes it nearly impossible to hit something. Also, no one dies because they don't know how to use any kind of tactical maneuvering, but I suppose that's a good thing. ( I could beat them in a gunfight. Rather easily.)
Oh, and then all the kids who listen to rap get all cocky about it and start quoting parts of rap "songs" at the end of stuff they say to look tough, like when you said ""motha-blam!-a still ballin, till the day i die, u can bring ur crew but we remain true, motha-blam!-a's still ballin, -blam!-s wonder why, u can bring ur crew but we remain true, mother-blam!-a's still ballin" tupac..still ballin ." That's like me saying, at the end of this post,
"So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins, through peace and trust this day will be not about your losin'--Led Zeppelin"
Wow...realllly]/i] effective at intimidation, isn't it?
The worst part about rap is that it all sounds alike. There's nothing satisfying about listening to it, there's no crazy insane instrumental solo that really makes you appreciate their skill (which isn't really a word that can be used with any kind of rap except for freestyle), and it's not really like their music is going to become a "classic" and be remembered for generations to come.
The reason I think rappers don't diss the rockers is because most rock (with the exception of punk and some screamo) is respectable and done by talented [i]musicians.
