Subject: Bring Halo CE to XBL

I'm sure this has been discussed a million times. But I guarantee you if Bungie would bring CE to XBL it would probably be the most played game on live. Even more than Halo 3. Heck they could probably resell the game and people would still buy it full price just for that. Just think about it bungie, please.

(Yes I know about XBC and Xlink Kai)

More played than Halo 3?

A game from 2001 with dated graphics, gameplay, limited feature-set.

versus ->

A game from 2007 with current graphics, gameplay, rich feature-set, etc.

The only way I see that working out is if Halo 2 and 3 both sucked bad enough to reopen the ET landfill :p

As much I would like it, I would really doubt that. Console gamers love to move onto the newest thing. I can't see it surpassing Halo 3 in popularity.

Some of us would pay full price, but a lot of people wouldn't, and I'm sure Bungie has thought about it.

I wish, I wish, I wish people would start looking at the threads before making another one identical to the one 5 threads down.

It doesn't really bother me too much, but there's one thread on the front page, and one on the Top Forum Topics. Even with the worthless search function, it wouldn't be too hard to find.

You'd probably shoot back if i wasn't T-bagging your dead body.

Its not for the masses. Halo 1 has limited graphix ect however has the best gameplay out of the 3 titles. I for one would repurchase the game at full price again. Ive played and owned kidz at halo pc its to laggy Screw gearbox and randy pitchford

Botolf is right. I highly doubt it would be that successful.

Please Bungie, redeem yourself w/ Reach.
Halo 2 and 3 both stink out loud.
In the immortal words of Mr Horse: Halo 2? No sir, didn't like it.

Fixed

It's all about the gameplay. Stuff like Saved Films, etc. Big whoop. You enable H:CE with XBL and you have yourself an H3 online killer.

And am I the only old geezer who sorta enjoyed ET as a kid? :)

I've only seen pictures, and heard about the premise, but it's generally considered the worst game of all time.

Well they made a new game called halo 3 and their trying to make all the money they can off of that. And I don't know how to use XBC.

To play or not to play....

If you are refering to multiplayer for Halo Combat Evolved I heard that Bungie tried that right from the start but it didn't really work well.

Also there is Halo Custom Edition which is an add on for Halo CE (PC version). I reckon it would be cool if someone ported that over to XBL. I would get it.

I have been thinking that myself for quite some time. It sounds to me like a great idea! Glad someone has the same opinion, its really nice.
I hope we get it one day...

"He's already pulled over....he can't pull over any further!" supertroopers

They will not remake H1. However, I pray they sell the rights to a 3rd-party company to remake the game one day. Just hopes and wishes though.

Surely you didn't mean multiplayer over Xbox Live? Xbox Live was not released until exactly a year after Halo 1 came out.

  • 03.23.2008 8:17 PM PDT

Halo: CE > > Halo 3 > Halo: Reach = Halo 2

What i believe he's referring to is... Bungie had planned to make Halo 1 online MP compatible from the start (mac, pc), but once it became xbox exclusive, and because xbl was still not established, they had to scratch it.

  • 03.28.2008 5:55 AM PDT

(Bungie > 343i)

In my opinion I don't think that Bungie would do that, I also think it would be cool but do you really see it Last long?

  • 04.02.2008 2:11 PM PDT

I keep getting banned since the mods are unfunny and suck at their jobs!

There is a thing that is called Xbox Connect. Why don't you search it up on Google.
Hey, at least it's free, not like the cheap Xbox Live system we have right now!

In Memory Of My Xbox Jack.

Halo Writers and Artists

They could do it in the arcade version. I would easily pay 1200 M$ points for that.

Bungie.net

Do you know how hard that would be? Bungie would have to re-create an entire game all the way from 2001, then they would have to add the Xbox LIVE stuff, and then re-sell it which would cost a lot of money.

It will never happen. It's not like they could just send out an update and make it XBL enabled.

They wouldn't need to completely redo the original game. Campaign is fine as is. All we're asking for is for multiplayer to be Xbox Live compatible.

and then re-sell it which would cost a lot of money.
Some of us wouldn't care about price. I'd pay double of what I paid for my copy if they re-released Halo:CE that could be played over Live. Multiplayer was what drew me to Halo, not the solo play.
