I have a feature that I think would be quite useful if Bungie adds multiplayer AI bots:

WHILE directly aiming at a friendly AI-bot, double-press the X button fast, and that will tell that bot to follow and cover you wherever you go, so the chance of you accidently doing this when reloading in battle is slim. Lastly, holding X while directly aimed at an AI bot will tell that bot to hold its position, but when it is under attack or about to get run over by a vehicle, it will maneuver and strafe, but then return to the hold position if it survives. This won't really be a problem when entering vehicles by holding X, because you most likely won't be directly aiming at a friendly AI bot.

I said IF they add AI bots, but no, they haven't commented about them.

lol, I'm not talking about those AI bots. The bots in multiplayer, IF they add them, should be really smart and not just used as cannon fodder or for taking extra ammo or weapons.

there might also be a command to guard the flag, or make a run for the enemy flag, or even bring wait for the player in a warthog so they can hop in the gunner seat and make a fast getaway after a flag run

I forgot to state that when you tell an AI bot to follow you (double-press X while aimed directly at friendly bot), that when you get into a vehicle, the bot will jump in the gunner or the passenger, and if you get in a solo-driven vehicle like an ATV or a Ghost, the bot will get into another ghost or ATV nearby, or just run and follow you and try to keep up.

I don't think this is Halo/bungie style. Halo 2 isnt rainbow 3, nor is it brute force. Its Halo

I would definately like to see Bots come into Halo 2, but I think they'll be a different control mechanism if they do add them. First, they might be controllable by voice-command. It hasn't been confirmed, but Frankie certainly seems to point to it in one of his updates. Second, it seems that the button X has been getting alot of attention. I'm thinking, what about the D-pad? I don't know anyone who likes to play Halo just by the D-pad, so they may simply map out some commands on there.

THANK YOU! Perfect Dark was the best game concerning bots hands down. I haven't seen any other game come close.

ai=artificial inteligence and inteligence=the ability to make a decision yourself

therefore i'd like to see the artificial inteligence look at what everyone else is doing and place themselfs acordingly, however if this system is to hard to make then your idea is good also

Well, if you don't command the AI bots to follow you, or hold position, they'll move on their own to achieve whatever goal is in the gametype they're in(ex.if it's capture the flag, the bot will either go on foot and attack any enemies in his way through many paths to the flag, steal it, then take it back, or get in a vehicle if one is nearby and do that same thing except on a different path).

I don't want to be able to control the bots. I want them to act on their own.

Ok, as i said in many many many threads like this before, yes bots would be cool to have when my bro is on the comp with the internet but it takes alot of codeing to make bots work really good instead of some dumbass spartan shooting 20 feet away from you until its at point blank and even than its missing!
