there were lots of post about thgis just after the E3 04 movie, but lets talk about it again.

i think that it looks more stable now and not as hard to handle. but it doesnt look as brutal. it looks like a peice of glass rather than energy because its sort of see thru and doenst have the mist anymore. some have said that the old onr is a plasma sword and the other one is a energey sword, i dissagree. my personal opinion is that in the e3 04 demo they probably didnt have it on full detail, so so thats why there is no particle effects there.

but in the end ???????? who knows?

it is skinny, pale (at least not as bright as it's older counterpart making it look weak), and small

plus flaming energy sticks look better than energy sticks w/ no flame

i bet your right, the particle effects were turned down because for online games they want to minimize lag!!!!!!!!! kool...........

Again, I'm going to have to disagree. I do like both renditions of the sword, but it seems to me that the latter of the two (2004) is much more refined, from a purely aesthetic standpoint. The blade(s) are more thoroughly defined; instead of blurry, blazing poles they're razor-sharp, pulsating edges. I'm assuming you've seen the first person screenshot of the Spartan wielding the Energy Sword, but if so, I fail to see how can you call it 'dinky'; it's simply been refined from a dull, blunt bat to a delicate, nimble killing-stick, (figuratively speaking) much as it should be.
