6600 equal an ATI 9800 card right? Cuz I think people kind of look for the bigger numbers sometimes....

9500 or 6600? The 9500 is way slower, dude.

Depends upon your interface. AGP or PCI, or, less likely, PCI-e.

XP2100 is a bit low, but it will run fine. 512MB is perfectly adequate, and the nForce 2 chipset is still good.

Okay, let's not trash this thread, it's a sticky for graphics cards and computers, not about pants eating and whatnot...

Yeah Saphire's X850 XT is $100 cheaper than Gigabyte's I'm definitely getting Saphire's instead.

Lol, my Sapphire card was the ATi card...they didn't do anything to it at all, not even put a sapphire sticker on it. They just gave me the sapphire cd and some other stuff, but they gave me the original card. So I guess you could say I saved another $100 there.

Sapphire makes two versions. One that's a bit faster, is blue, has their sticker, and one direct from ATi.

I could only find one version of the Saphire X850 XT.

then get that version. sapphire is a trusted ati partner. its really known for its toxic series. howver, you should just get x800 not the x850. the x850 only gives a few more fps than the x8000 and is like 100.00 more expensive.

I found it cheaper on zipzoomfly than the x800xt simply because they have more in stock. The x800 series never really got much production, so it was fairly high priced compared to other ati cards.

Well, your system is pretty slow, so you need a good video card...and that one isn't very good. Get at least FX5700.

if you play only halo, all you need to upgrade is ur video card to a geforce 6 card. if u wanna go ati, buy a radeon 9600. the fx 5700 isn't all that good. most of the 5700's are in LE mode(limited edition). be sure to get the agp versions of these cards though. i don't think you have pci 16x slot.

isnt the x700 better than the 9800 pro? if so then why is the x700 cheaper?

I think the 9800XT, maybe Pro at times, does beat out the x700. Just guessing, it's probably a marketing strategy to puch PCI-e forward to become the standard a lot sooner.
