Hey Mike, do you know what type of slot for a graphics card you have? I know even a cheapo $47 solution that will take the strain away. Integrated...argh I had that on my first pc. Couldn't even run Age of Empires that well.

I'm going to update soon and spend somewere around 100-150 bucks but after reading some of these posts i'm not sure what to get(what will fit in the comp). Not sure if I have agp/PCI ect.

The pc model is "hp pavilion 525c."

Any help would be appreciated!

Navu that AMD 64 will be alot better than that old p4 but you still would probably want to upgrade you vid card too. Your card is about the same as mine and it will not be able to keep up with your processor. i know!!

Starks the hp website says your computer has a ASUS A7N8X-LA mobo. This is an AGP 8x mobo. In your price range your best bet will probably be an Ati 9800 Pro or an NVidia FX 5900.

I asked this in another thread but it didn't get answered so I'm going to ask this here just incase it was missed. I have a 1Ghz P3 processor and an agp 5200. My question is, what card will the processor not be able to keep up with, what is the best card I can get that I will be able to take full advantage off? If it will make a differenct, I can upgrade to a 1.2Ghz processor.

Upgrading to a P3 1.2 will not help. It's still the P3 core, same small cache, etc., so clock speed is sort or irrevlevant. I don't think any card would help it. Any P3 right now, well you can't expect to play games much with it. 5500 or 5700 MAY be the fastest before it's useless. Remember your CPU calculates AI and physics, and most new games have intense AI and complex physics.

I was just wondering which card could process faster than what the CPU can give it. Thanks for the help.

i suggest u get a new pc altogether. (maybe an athlon 64 3000 939 .

Then get a gigabyte nforce 4 mobo

For the vid card, get this: geforce 6600

If u have the money of course. (380.00 to do this upgrade.)

I'm canadian, and Im proud of it. EH!!? My dad and I (oooooohhhh aaaahhhhh proper grammer!!!!) are still in the thinking it out stage of getting anew pc cause we did just get one in january. Its crappy though but better than my older one. We will probably do this in september at the very earliest and will probably get a top of the line video card cause we actually want something decent for once. I was looking at the mobo but we haven't made the descision yet.

^^^^

The most recent pc I got, I finally said, "enough with the concessions". And decked it out with the video card, a good proc but not like an FX $700+, in general got sick of buying a pc and having it suck within a year.

By then I'm sure we'll have the X900 series or something. Then once 2007 rolls around, plans are for PCI-Express 2. Still got a ways to wait for it, though.

my dad has that motherboard, not because he plays games, but he does a ton of stuff on that pc such as dvd burning/recording/video editing. Also he has 1 gb of pc3200 low latency RAM at 2-2-2-5. I love his pc, but sadly its his.
ANyways, i suggest u get mobo that gumball.

Sexy how do u know theres gonna be a x900??
