Ya don't! HA! Actually, I don't know but if I did I would help you.

I have another question about RAM: I asked this guy at bestbuy and he said that any RAM that had PC3200 would work. Is that true? I even gave him a print out from Everest Home Edition.

I'm guessing that you only have input for a coaxial cable (the one with the pin in the middle), because that's pretty much all ATi puts on their AIW cards.

On the back of your TV, there is an input/output for those cables. Just plug a coaxial cable into the output of your TV, then run it to your card. As far as the length between the two...uh, that's your problem, best move your computer to the TV.

So there's no way to buy a chord that will go from the card to my tv downstairs? I ask this cause I can't take the xbox upstairs just to record my gamefootage since i got 2 other people playing after me.

Green - As long as the RAM you have now is PC3200, then yes, it's fine to get another stick or so of 3200. However, you want your setups to match. If you have dual channel right now, you'll want to get dual channel for the upgrade, and if you have single stick now you'll want to get just single stick. See, mixing types of RAM, even if they are at the same speed, can be bad.

No, they sell coaxial cables up to 500 feet long, although you won't need one that long. You'll have to measure the length from the card to your TV, and maybe add 5 or 10 feet. Then just go out and buy it.

Ok one last question. Sorry for my slowness ^^, but im only 14. If you buy the coaxial cable you don't need to hook up anything else to the card or xbox right? Just the coaxial cord. Then would you just put the cd's in with the video programs and your on ur way?

Yeah, all you need is a coaxial cable running from your tv's output to your card. From, there, you can do what you want with the video feed.

Heyyo,

for coaxial cords? go down to any electronics store, and buy one there. Actually, if you feel adventerous, and want a custom length one, you can ask how much they'd charge to make one for you, or you could put the ends on yourself, not too hard. Just need some wire stippers, and some pliers. ;)

If you need to use 2 coaxial cables? you can get little adapters to joint them together.. I think the max length on coaxial is like 1000 meters, so you should be fine...

the only way I know you could video capture through your ethernet connection is by putting linux on your $box, and linux on your comp, and using remote assitance programs like RealVNC.. other than that? coaxial cable's is your only hope.

$15 max. Actually, $12 is probably about right. I have a coaxial that's 75 feet, and it cost me around $16, although it was designed to go underground. It had a thicker sealant, so if you get a regular indoor one, it should be cheap.

I don't think it goes by channels, dude. It just carries whatever is currently on the screen to whatever it's connected to.

Otherwise, you probably use and 'auxiliary' channel or 'video' channel. Many tv's, like mine have two or three RCA inputs (red/white/yellow), and so have 3 auxiliary channels.

How come the 9800 XT is more expensive than the x700 pro? Does ATI make any plain cards such as 9800 or 9600 etc, or are they all SE/pro/XT. If so, which one is better pro or plain (assuming there's a plain version)

The 9800XT is better than the X700 pro.

The order of card versions, from worst to best:

* SE
* (plain)
* Pro
* XT

But the 9800 XT is AGP and x700 pro is PCI e.

It's still faster, though. I think that the 9800XT beats every PCI-e card below the X800.

right click my computer. Click on the "Hardware" tab and then go to "Device Manager" then once you're there, click on "System Devices" and if you see anything that says PCI or AGP or PCI express then you know which one you have, here's an example:

http://www.hostima.net/greenxpanda/System%20devices..bmp

Look for the one that says anything about PCI express. In your case, it will have PCI and/or PCI express/AGP.
