x700 is much better than 9800 pro..........

Fatal - simply lag. When a lot of stuff like explosions and gunshots are happening in your vicinity you will lag a bit, compared to when no one is around you.

Im not sure about the x700 and 9800XT. Darn close, I think. 768 can be okay if it isnt dual channel, which it probably isnt.

I dont know of any video cards for PCI that support DX9. 8.1 is about as good as youll get, you can still play games and such, just not as well. Try the FX5500 for PCI, best I know of...maybe they make a 5700? I dunno, speaking Spanish all day and then getting to a pc to type in English for a few minutes...pardon if I am incorrect on anything, my brain is completely blown, lol.

I should post more often, my last post is 4 pages back~
Often times, the price differences for an older model are because the older model still has decent options.

Apparently ioniz was mistaken in my comp knowledge, the 17" box fan idea works, it's just obscenely excessive(not to mention inexpensive)
And senorita is lady.

Sexy, any word on a new vid card sporting digital connection similar to the analog cable connections, or should i spend my time hunting down an elusive PCI cable imput device?
Also, know of any links to the vid clip of the guys who aced a video card using car batteries? I just thought the idea of delicious arcs of electric power coursing through technology was appropo. Seriously, that is oc'ing...

I bought a ATI 9250 256MB PCI card cause at the time i didn't think my PC had an AGP slot and now i know it does....lol even with that card i can still run Doom 3 and Half Life 2 on high quality and 1024x768 resolution without the framerate suffering too badly....but it seems like trying to do the same on Halo realllllllly slows it down....any opinions on which is the best ATI card to get for an AGP slot?

I'll have to look into that....hopefully my AGP slot will be fast enough to handle that 9800.....as for the rest of my system specs:

eMachines W2646
Celeron 2.6 MHZ
512MB RAM
40GB hard disk
3 PCI slots and one AGP slot....not sure if its a 4x or an 8x tho

Yeah it's not that much but i only gave $300 for it :)

yep hes right and personally i have yet to see the performance increase in agp 4x and 8x, my benchmarcks with a 9550 se were the same allthough i did that way back when i was 13.
well personally i would get a 9800 pro (make sure it had a R360 core first) and first flash the bios to an XT and then do a wee bit of o.c ing but i would keep the stock cooler.

The MX4000 did not satisfy my visual thirst so I traded It For a Diamond stealth S80 (Radeon 9200se)

It is a whole lot better than the mx4000 and IT did not cost a dime more($84.00)

I suggest It for any one that is not willing to pay more than $100 and It is pci and supports directx 9. It enables all features in visual settings To quench any visual thirst

Hey sexy legs what card do you have and what resolution does it support without lag in halo

I've been doing some homework on Mobos and that's the one I'm probably going to get. Make sure it's got the 939 Socket and see if the chipset is nforce 4 Ultra. The regular nforce 4 has 800Mhz FSB the Ultra has 1Ghz. It's also PCI-Express so your AGP vid card won't work, but PCI-e is the future so if you can afford a new vid card do it.

i know that already, but i'm asking if that specific model is any good. It just came out, so ther aren't many reviews yet.

nforce 4 ultra is good, and its asus, but maybe its some beta mobo?

they are about the same, but x850 is a little better. I don't want a SLI mobo. I really don't need a pc THAT good.

The SLI is only $40 more but to fully use the capabilities, you have to buy several hundred dollars of video cards. Plus this is the first generation of SLI, let the people with money test the interface so nVidia can improve and tweak it.

Ioniz -- I could only find three or four reviews on the net, but they were all positive. Based on their reputation ASUS is the safest bet. I WILL be getting this motherboard when I get the money.
