Navu, looks good. 3200 is great, the augidy 2 zs is one of the only sound cards with a dedicated signal processor (ie, very high quality sound), and the Xconnect - mine works wonderfully.

If you have the money by all means get the X850XT platinum. It will be quite a bit better than the X800. The X800 can lose by as much as 40+ frames per second in games compared to the X850XT plat., and in a few years those FPS will be more and more important...

Both are fast as hell cards, you can be sure. Just know that the X850Xt Platinum is significantly better.

Hmm, the new toolbar icons will take getting used to...housecleaning with the stickies, I imagine? ;)

The forum is garbage, its prone to all manor of browser defects. Accidently hit history (ctrl-h), your message is history, gonzo........ repeated ad nauseum, message deleted permanently, and I will not repost. Already complained to MS. I cannot comment when my comments are deleted by browser errors.

I have Halo beat, when running the timedemo, the audio is all bunched up and three threads are active at once.

ok...

Navu, the 512MB ATi and nVidia cards are not really that much better at all. They perform maybe 2-3 FPS more than their 256MB counterparts.

VRAM isn't THAT important. Navu, if u have no budget get the dual 6800 ultras. However, the x850 is a much better deal. I would LOVE to uopdate from my crappy nforce 2 mobo. its giving me crashes and moniter refreshes, and unstability. Its not spyware cause i used hijack this and wiped every single bad thing out of my pc. wish i can get an nforce 4 SLI with ONE 6600 gt with an amd 3200 OC.

Ioniz, get the 6800 GT or Ultra if you want SLI later on. The best plan is to get a SLI board and one 6800 ultra, then when you can afford it get the other. A 6600GT is good, but it is a ways behind a 6800 ultra, and two of those are bomb. I believe dual 6600's don't beat an X850XT, at least in most performance benchmarks, but the 6800's do.

Could be bad drivers for your instability..

EDIT: Well, you got one already, no use blowing an extra $400 on a 6800, huh?

well, i don't want a 6800 cause i'm not the most serious gamer. dual 6600 gt's can catch up to an x800, but not an x850 i think.

If 2 6600s don't beat a x850 then why get 2 6600s when you can get a x850?

I don't think many current games utilize SLI that well, maybe the main reason why they currently cannot kick the X850. In Doom 3 they do, but almost all other games, well over 50% of the benchmarks, the X850 generally performs better.

SLI is future. ATI still is using the good old single card. Eventually, more games should support SLI.

Can't wait for the ATi chipset mobos and ATi's version of SLI. Dual X850XT PE's. That would blow everything out of the water :o

i know, if only ATI had SLI, id love em. However, nvidia is gonna release 2 GPU boards. So, 4 grpahic boards in total! Also, nvidia i heard is relaesing a new GPU too.
