If you report the original post of a thread, does it report the whole thread, or just that post?

and when you report one post within a thread (not the OP), does it just report that person's post, or the whole thread?

Does anybody understand what I am saying?

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Reporting is on an individual post basis, though it's kinda a rule of thumb that if the thread is bad, reporting the OP is expected.

The only exceptions to this, in my opinion, is when a thread is derailed from it's original, legitimate, purpose, or when there are exceptionally malignant posts within the thread. Usually in the former case, I'd PM a moderator highlighting the problem(s), and in the later, I'd report the individual posts or, in the more extreme cases, PM a moderator about the specific posts.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

When you report a post it does just that one. Not the whole thread. A mod will generally look at the whole thread to see what other things need to be dealt with once he/she is done with that post.
