Halo 2 was the best Halo game
A7x FoREVer!

After Achronos claimed 70,000 Heroic members lost that ranking, and other Legendary and Mythic members demoted back to there original status on Bungie.net I figured this ment everything would go back the way it was. Anyways we all know some people still kept there rank earned during th so-called bug, which many deserved. Problem is I keep noticing 1 thing partically about Heroic members, many of them obviously shouldn't have that rank. I feel I'm seeing new members with that status on these forums.

(Example: If you look at some Heroic Members you'll notice they have only been members since the release of Halo 3, in late 2007.)

I'm sorry Achronos, but all the given info you have given us on how one gains these ranks, dealing mostly with time since your account was created on Bungie.net and past blacklisting. It wouldn't make sense one whos been here not even 6 months deserves the title of being Heroic or Legendary. I was just wondering if anyone else notices this?

Edit: Achronos and other Forum Ninjas have given us slim information besides adressing us to check out FAQ on Bungie.net Member Titles / Bar Colors explaining information about the titles. I'm basing the reasons to the bug possibly not being fixed off what this topic states.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

As far as I know it was fixed. I would also like to stress that it is a trust system. The system doesn't go off of how long you've been here.

But late '07 isn't right no matter what, if you could find one, could you post the link to the profile?

I doubt that posting the links to them is the right corse of action... Perhaps a more delicate solution maybe in-order. PM a mod maybe and if they're interested in fixing with the issue, I'm sure they'd deal with it.

Yeah, you're right. Achronos said he had fixed the bug in the system. Maybe that guy has done something simply amazing? Only Achronos knows.

I noticed it. There are a lot of heroic members and I'm fairly sure (taking your word for it) that some of them are new to this site and have only come here since halo 3 relies and for the sole purpose of viewing their stats, reading updates, and making occasional forum posts. I've also heard of legendary members who admit that they only made 2 or 3 posts this year.
As for myself, if I were the judge, I would say i deserve to be heroic as I've been here for a while and made LOTS of topics and posts in a variety of forums, although, I'll admit I have been blacklisted a couple of times. (both times for nothing serious. Small forum rule regulation breakings.)

I find that since titles don't mean anything, I don't care for them. BUT, Its annoying that if your going to have them you should in depth explain how one obtains that rank.

I personally don't believe anyone who has been here less then a year should recieve the title of being a Heroic member. I'v seen it on some members so, yes I think the bug was never fixed.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

For the most part, I agree with your post; as in some people obviously don't deserve a high trust rating. I must, however, address one paragraph of your post Noshot.

Achronos hasn't given us anything of how the trust system works. The only thing he has given us, which was still very vague, was that of how long someone has been on the site. There are quiet possibly hundreds, if not thousands, of other criteria that we do not know about, and never will know about. Those that are Heroic Members and such, earned the title. For example, myself. This account I made in mid July, and it already has a good trust rating.

Basically, what I am saying, the criteria is unknown, and always will be unknown. It is not our decision to say who should and should not be Heroic. That is up to those that know the calculation and how the system works.

They are not ranks. Period. They are trust ratings applied to certain users, to show the webteam who is and who is not trustful. Revealing what criteria the system is based off of, would make the system useless since it would be manipulated. All you have to know is 'Play Nice'. That's it.

Maybe because you were only a member for a month. Just speculating, of course.

I don't know if it was totally fixed. I think I've only been a member since November, and I'm already a Heroic Member. It doesn't make much sense to me.

I, and many others, are from 2007, but we have gained a certain amount of trust by not getting in trouble and (possibly) by helping others.

Read the FAQ, it helps a lot.

btw before the bug update nobody except people who had been here for more then 20 months had Heroic, Legendary, or Mythic titles. There is no way to give good feedback, and I'm quite familar with the FAQ's.... Trust is ment by not getting black listed, which a mod can give you a 7 day temp for no reason what so ever. Anything that can possibly be called spam can get you introuble. That is why its obvious the bug issue was not fixed. If anything the more you post, the more chances you will post on a "spam infested topic" which got me 1 temporary blacklisting. All I'm saying is time spent over Bungie.net forums is the only obvious thing we can get for how one obtains member titles.

I think that its becoming more of a time of joining rank. I was a Heroic member before it was fixed (never banned or blacklisted though) and became Legendary after. Ive also noticed a massive increase in the amount of mythic members.

If I was to be honest there are WAY too many Mythics. As it was before a mythic member was unique and rare (there were 13) now it is common and its meaning lost. I say Mythic member titles remain as they are but there should be a new rank which has reduced numbers. Perhaps they could be called "Prophets", I'm just throwing about ideas, I just think Mythic has lost its sense of awe.

What do you all think?

i've been a member for years, but just read the forums and didnt post, i have posted a lot recently and have shot up the member ranks, so i think time of joining is important, then a lack of bad feedback. but obviously i didnt go up the ranks when i wasnt posting. so you need to post but avoid trouble to go up!
