Well Enough Alone...

~"The people who play Bungie games tend to sense that there's something behind the games that's attractive to them. Then they become fans of the games. And then they become rabid fans. And then they become employees of Bungie."(Life story) -Marty

I don't get it. The maximum number of results it has ever turned up for me is 999 results, even though I have way, way more posts. Yet for other users it returns a lot more. Is it counting only the topics you've made (in which case I should still have way more then 999), replies, or both? Someone please explain...

The only Twitter I follow. Except yours ;)
The Frozen Minority; Bungie's real underground. The oldest members, the deepest controversy, walking infamy.

It only ever returns 999 (unless you haven't posted that much). It stops giving you a reading at 999 because posts after that are probably too old/it would give you your post count.

I've only ever seen it return 999. A lot of people obviously have posted way more than that, but it's not really meant to be a post counter :)

A new topic counts as a post, so it tallies both your topics and your replies.

Then how have I seen forum-author results in the 200s?

for instance.

As of this moment, that person has made 278 posts altogether -- an OP counts as a post, as does a post in any other position on a reply listing.

I'm not really sure what you're saying. Let's say hypothetically that someone makes 1000 posts in their time on bungie.net. Only the most recent 999 posts will be returned when you search for them in the Forums-Author box, so the very first post that they made will no longer show up when you search for them in the Forums-Author box.
