Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clichéd lines.

The new weekend update mentions the "Double EXP Weekend Playlists". I assume this means that if you win you win 2 exp. This means that it'll be impossible, or at least annoying, to figure out your win/loss ratio. Before it was easy. You could figure it out by doing total exp gained + |exp penalties| / number of games played. So if you had 600 exp and 1000 games played your win/loss is 60%. But with the double exp playlists this will make estimating impossible. So it would be nice if in either Game History or Career Stats on Bungie.net it showed what your win/loss ratio was.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

A valid point.

You are right. It would be a nice feature anyways, even if they weren't doing the double EXP games. (though I don't know I I want to see any more of my stats!)

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

That is an invalid method of calculating win/loss ratio anyway. EXP points are still gained even when you do not "win" a game in Lone Wolves, Rumble Pit, or multi-team games. This method also does not account for tie games in either team or solo playlists.

Really, the only thing you can accurately calculate using EXP is how often you come in dead last place. But even with double EXP, you will still be able to do that because you will still gain zero points for last place. Thus, nothing will change.

Unless I'm completely missing something, which is absolutely possible....

But the win/loss ration you suggested is more complicated than that...

You have to factor in exp penalties and custom games, and also on the random occasions where you aren't given anything (which has happened to me a few times), or if it was a tie.

Just saying.

But having a tie or getting third in lone wolves is still pretty much considered a win if I'm not mistaken. At least I don't think you ever go down in rank for tying.

And no, you won't be able to tell how many times you've lost with double exp. Let's say you've won 600 out of 1000 games on the current system. That's 60%. But let's say it was the new system and 200 of those games you won were double exp. That would have your exp at 800. Which would have it 800 out of 1000, which would make it look like you had a 80% win/loss.

I did factor in exp penalties. And there is a way to figure out how many matchmaking games you have played. Go to Career Stats. In the top right corner it will tell you how many games you have played in ranked and social. Just add those together.

Ok it says I have 724 exp. I have 630 ranked games and 646 unranked games. And I have 12 exp penalties. So it would be (724+12)/(630+646). Which is 736/1276. Which is 58% rounded.

Great point. I think that feature would be great for the website.

Is there not a Halo 3 stats website you can sign up to that will show you this stuff?

Currently Bungie.net's site doesn't. And if a 3rd party site did they'd probably base it off total exp gained or something which they wouldn't be able to do anymore.

I recently found Halo Charts

They have nearly every stat that I can think of.

The win to loss ratio doesn't mean that much. The person playing might have boosted, been carried by his teammates, playing on a friend's account, letting someone else play, had gotten really good lately, or have an off night. You can never tell how good someone is until you actually play them.

Taxes do nothing to affect the share of wealth, since taxes are only applied to income.

So that's not even a part of the conversation at all, so it's pointless talking about it....

"for a "best" moral to exist, there must exist the "best" moral base. If the base of morality varies from location to location, culture to culture...then there can't be an absolute moral..

as kmart has pointed out, the win/loss ratio is an inaccurate way to gauge a player's performace as so many things can turn it in either direction. the easiest way to get a good win/oss ratio is to play on an alt account and to quit once you reach your accurate rank. that way you will never rack up losses since you will have pretty much only have played inferior talent. the same behavior is also a great way to inflate one's kill/death ratio.

<3 Forky

I think a win/loss ratio would be nice, but it's something that would be a little useless. Say someone only plays team games, they could be incredibly skilled, but the other people they were playing with weren't very good, and the other team was more coordinated. The said player's win/loss ratio would be low, but they would still be good at the game. A win/loss ratio isn't a very good way to interpret someone's skill.
