Can Bungie put a sticky on the pinned topics so we know when the ninjas are online? I know some person on Bungie.net created a program for the when they're online, but I don't want to download it I just want to see who's online so I can tell them if I saw people bump ten times or more without another comment or things like that. Please answer!

» Sincerely, Dan

First off, the "Moderator Finder" does not require downloading, it's just a webpage.

Secondly, you shouldn't be messaging ninjas for every infraction, use the "Report" button at the bottom of the offending post.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

only message a mod when someone is spamming a forum with massive threads.

I know I just wanted to know if they could do that, and I use the report button if they bump a lot and I message the ninjas if I need help on where to post and that stuff. Then what's the website that show they're online.

I'm a serious dude, so what?

the problem with showing which mods are online or if they're online at all, is that it leads to abuse. If people think they can flame someone or troll or spam or wtfever, and get away with it, they'll be more apt to do it. Now, we all know that they'll only be getting away with it until a strong moderator comes on and bans them, but in the downtime the forums would start sucking. Imagine that, if for only 15 minutes a handful of losers posted anything and everything that came to mind. All the good posts would be thrown down a page or two and the main page would be a wall of locks.

Most users would never abuse it. But they aren't the ones you have to be worried about.

If topics are getting locked, moderators are working. That's it. Text doesn't usually constitute an emergency, so the "report" button is sufficient for most problems.

For emergencies though, the Moderator Finder is in a sticky in this forum.

I don't think knowing when ninjas are both online and offline is a good thing. Some people would spam the forums when there are no or little moderators online in order to have the greatest impact on the forums.
You could also look at it this way, Police setting up speed cameras. If people knew when there were no cameras they would speed and when they know that there are cops they would obey the limits.
