Punk is dead.
Punk is no longer punk, punk is mainstream whining, it just says "hey, life sucks, go kill yourself, i cant think of more words, blah blah blah."
You have obviously not listened to the bands I named. they and very punk and are also political (especially anti-flag). not just “go kill your self” that’s goth-punk, like disturbed, and it sucks.
Real punk is not dead
Real punk, you say? You mean really whiny sell-out punk? Then yes I completely agree with you.

Obviously he has that's why he doesnt like them. Barely now they arre singing about politics it's sad. Plus they're lyrics arent that good either way. If you want a band that's political go listen to old bands like G.B.H. or CRASS. Real punk is dead they have all sold themselves out to the media which was not the original goal of Punk music. Now it's not about being a "rebel" it's just a style now nothing more.
This guy has the right idea. Real punk was about rebellion, about taking everything you knew and kicking it in the balls. It rocks you like you've never rocked before, and you like it. Take the song "anarchy in the UK" by the Sex Pistols, Is this the m.p.l.a
Or is this the u.d.a
Or is this the i.r.a
I thought it was the u.k or just
Another country
Another council tenancy
That isnt any American Idiot. Thats pure contempt for the state and what its doing. The Sex Pistols didnt give jack -blam!- about what anybody thought about them, they just cared that people knew how they felt. For that they will be remembered as one of the premier punk rock bands.
Rest In Punk - Tommy and Dee Dee Ramone.
