Get it. Now.

Don't have a GameCube? Buy one. It's that good.

Indeed. It is the only game that I play more than Halo 2. Infact I haven't even touched Halo 2, or any other game since RE4 came out.

It only disappoints me. Resident Evil 4 was fast-paced, had almost double the playtime and had far superior environment design. I just wonder why the Halo 2 guys couldn't have done that. I had set Bungie on a pedastal of having the best in the business, yet here comes Capcom with this absolutely amazing game. A large portion of Halo 2's levels were... well, uninteresting.

The amount of work that went into it is insane - and it's on Gamecube, to boot.

Yes, but they're not like Halo 2 vehicles. Few of them you can drive, and the ones you can are more "mini-game" ish - though that doesn't detract from how well the vehicles are done.

What astounds me is some parts of the game (most of the game, in fact) only last for five or ten minutes yet they look like they took months to produce.

I wouldn't know. But I think I would enjoy playing Halo 2 more just for the fun vehicles. And besides, I really don't want to buy a gamecube for 1 game.

I believe it was IGN who said, had the game come out in 2004, they would have voted it Game of the Year.

If you played this game you might think differently.

Besides, there's wealths of fun on Gamecube. Pikmin being one obvious one that comes to mind.

It's only entertaining if you have people to play with.

But if you do it becomes extreme fun.

its funny how many people cant believe thier beloved Halo 2 isnt the best game in the universe.

Anywho, RE4 looks absolutely amazing, but i have 1 question.

How does the game play? is it slow and freaky like the first few, actionpacked and slow and sneaky like MGS3, or something else?

It's an absolute blast.

You have a bunch of moods for scenes in the game:

The signature creepy as hell Resident Evil.
Military Special Ops (stealth)
Large, action-packed combat zones
Desperate chases (or fleeing)
hold-outs (trying to hold a house against HUGE opposing numbers, for instance)
Indiana Jones archaeologist feel

Previous Resident Evil's have been pretty much slow, methodical, creepy experiances. Resident Evil 4 seems to have a bit of something for everyone.

Rarely do I have much good to say about anything. I have a lot of good to say about Resident Evil 4.

Just look at the scores it's getting by IGN and Gamespot, to name a few.

I don't really like RE...I kinda liked the remake...but Lisa Trevor prevented me from beating as she scared the living crap out of me :(
But I did just rent RE:Outbreak to play with a couple friends, I think that seems like a pretty cool game.

Fo' so'.

I only have one real problem with Resident Evil 4. Everything has been improved except plot and depth. Since KOTOR II I've been sort of hoping for a similarily philosophical plot in games I play, and unfortunately, no such thing can be found in Resident Evil 4. It's a survival horror game, and it's great at what it is - but it's not much more.
