I thought long and hard about this tonight, as I never really tried to put the halo story together through all the games: Here's the different universe bungie has created... Okay, way back, god put adam and eve on earth. But it wasnt earth, earth isnt even heard of yet. its just some random planet. Adam and eve's civilization develops at rapid pace and become the "Forerunners". They have all the technology and inter-planetary installments. But the "Flood" breaks out, just like in the bible. So they build an Ark to try to save as many of their race as possible and they flee the flood, using the Ark. They come across a planet to land and maybe try to start over. Earth. Eventually they wish to possibly estinguish the flood permenently so they can return to their home planet. So, they build the Halo's. They installed a system on the Ark to remotely detonate the Halo's, when needed. I guess not everything went according to plan, and somehow the Halo's were fired, and the Forerunners werent in the Ark, which would be a safe haven during the detonation of Halo. So the Forerunners were wiped out, but their technology is hidden under earth's soil. (the trailer.) This all happened before humanity got it's, sort of 2nd start. So, humanity somehow restarts, I don;t know...the civil war happens, revolution, ww1, ww2, etc. And then we come to present day, in the game-2552. This weird race of aliens comes across a planet with Forerunner technology on it and keeps going and going to find more, and adopt it as their own. Then they start a war with us humans, and we run away, (the blind jump), and end up on a Halo lost for years in the universe. The covenent is retarded and wants to fire Halo all the time, whatever, I can't vouche for the turd prophets. From following the clues on each former Forerunner planet they find Earth, which means that there has to be something on earth they want to get also, because every planet they go to with forerunner clues, theres an artifact or something. The artifact on earth is, The Ark, hidden by the forerunner, under our feet for however many years. I'm sure you all know the rest about how we have to get the ark, but the covenent occupies earth now, and the covenant can now destroy everything if they have the ark. My concept is basically implying that there are several different "humanities". Maybe there were Forerunners even before the Forerunners? Its just like a circle that keeps starting over. The other theory could be more simple. The Forerunner are us in the distant future. The flood happens, and they try to send a warning back to us, but the covenant finds the warning first and interprets it wrong, as if the forerunners are from the past. but that wouldnt explain how the covenant gets all the forerunner technology and weaponry. Either way, let me know if you think i might have the right idea. Thanks, later.

An interesting take you have there. If you look at alot of fictional works, including alot of science fiction, whether they admit it openly or not, there are alot of biblical underpinnings. I personally am not religious, nor did I grow up within a religious family. Through my living in this religious country I have gleened enough to recognize influences in song, screen, word and games. There are so many things influenced by religion that those who live on this rock cannot help but have their thoughts and actions of creativity affected by it. There are those that are happy about this, and those that are indignant about it (hate it). For me, even though I am not a believer in these things, I do not have any qualms about them having influence when they positive is accentuated, not the negative. I am all for peace (through STRENGTH), freedom (when one is mostly free at least), and liberty (when it is not at the expense of another and their liberty).

Even as an aethiest, I can see the value in certain things religious and spiritual. For them to have found there way into things like Halo does not surprise me at all, as the people who created Halo (Bungie) is no doubt poplulated by people who have normal religious and spiritual lives, and those who do not. I am sure that the game is just that, a game, but it has been influenced by the thoughts and beliefs of those who created it.
