Need some help...

I want to play Halo 2 for ol times sake so I popped in the disc on my 360 and preceeded to play. It did the whole spiel with the update and when it restarted the game and I tried to get onto Xbox Live it shows an error saying network problems and giving me the option to start the troubleshooter or not. So, I ran the troubleshooter and there were no problems whatsoever with connecting to Live, but when I try to connect again through Halo 2 I get the same crap saying that it is having network problems.

Can anyone lend me some advice on what I should do because I really dont feel like calling the Xbox hotline and trying to decipher what some foreigner is trying to say...

Hmmmm I guess you may have parental controls enabled. Check them out and see if you are allowed to play original xbox games because by default they are not allowed for some very stupid reason.

Please bare in mind that this is the wrong forum, this forum is for Bnet community related topics not general technical issues. For these The Flood Forum (off-topic forum) is the place to go. Don't fret a mod will do with this thread as they see fit when they are available so don't re-post. Have a read over the rules sticky found HERE it tells you about the different forums.

Thanks, I hope what I have said will help although I can't be sure this is your problem.

Sorry about using the wrong forum.

I read some common problems and found the parental control deal but that isnt the problem with my 360. Went into Family Settings and then to both Console and Xbox Live Settings. Everything was allowed on the console settings and then for Xbox Live Settings it said that there were no child profiles.

Anything else that someone can think of?

That technique didnt work for me either. It lets me sign into a Halo 2 profile but doesnt give me the option to sign into an Xbox Live profile and when I click on XBOX LIVE in the main menu it gives me an error message saying "Network Problems. We could not connect you to Xbox Live. Would you like to start the troubleshooter?"

Again, I've tried configuring the family settings and theyre all fine. Tried multiple variations of signing out and signing back in on the dashboard, restarting the console, running the troubleshooter, etc. Xbox Live runs well with 360 games like Halo 3 too.

Have you tried making sure you are fully signed in before you put the disc in the tray. Sometimes it needs you to be signed in when you start the game so the game knows your login, then it will add your GT to the sign in list.

Dang I vaigly remember haveing a similar problem when I got the halo 2 update but I forget what to do. When in doubt, shut everything off and turn it back on. If that doesn't work and assuming there are no any actual network problems, the only other thing I can think of would be to clear the cash. You have to go to the 360s memery tab and put in some code. (I think they recently menioned how to do it in an update here on bungie.net)

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I would suggest clearing your system cache:walkthrough.

Well, then I am honestly stumped. I would suggest that you contact customer support and see if they can give you an answer. If they do have an answer, would you kindly post the solution for future reference?
