my favourite poem is the jumblies:

far and few, far and few
are the lands where the lands where the jumblies live
their heads are blue, their toes are green
and they went to sea in a sieve

those may not be the exact words, but i don't have a copy of the poem with me right now

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

What I got out of it was that in the world, there is no truth, only opinions. We can explain what truth is for ourselves, but to another, our definition of truth a lie.

Oh yes, and I did like it. Very good.

You got it right. Existance is then an attempt to reconcile those differences in "truth". Could we find one "truth" that all accept, however, then we could build off of that to reach an agreement. So truth changes, but still has the same affect.

Excellent poem. I wear a beret, snap my fingers, and play a bongo in your general direction.

And that is where believing without seeing, or faith comes in. But then we start getting into religion...

Not necessarily. There can be faith without religion, although I agree, we should avoid the subject just in case.

Ya, considering my beliefs...I don't think I could talk about faith without making it religious. So let's just move on.

Agreed.

How could he have gotton it "right" if there is only opinion? Occorinding to your poem, there is no true "right" only an opinionated version. Anyway, it really doesn't matter. I liked your peom and agreeded with it.

I have assumptions in which I have faith in, and I was basing my reply off of that.
