Ad Astra Per Aspera

Experienced In Life's Little Drama

Posted by: Achronos
They are "pptx" files - IE has a bug that is cutting off the last letter on download. If you get a ppt file that doesn't work, rename it to be pptx.

Oh the joys of Office 2007....... It was a source of my frustration most of the summer.

For a little more insight into some of the presentatitions, some of them have speaker notes.

So far I've found the following to have presenter notes in the files:
New Dog, Old Tricks
Enviroment Design in Halo 3
Building a Better Battle
Life on the Bungie Farm
E Pluribus Unum: Matchmaking in HALO 3

One's that don't:
Lightmap Compression

Edit: TO add to the tribulations of Office 2007, I had a friend w/ file on USB drive they were editing. Went to save it again and Office deleted it off of the drive and wouldn't let him save.

How fast can we download them?

I downloaded Itunes @ 1.49 MBps yesterday. 51 MB file in less than 35 secs.

I'll download them all at once if Ican.

You can only queue two downloads at a time. And who really cares? It all just takes a moment or two anyway.

Man, I'm seriously loving these technical articles so much. They make me so giddy ^_^

Just read over the AI Objective presentation and I'm ecstatic to work and study some more
C# programming. I'm wondering though if Damian thought of using evolution algorithm in the AI so they could "adapt" to the players gameplay style and present a more difficult challange.
Of course that could probably tax resource management, may present too much of a challange late in the game, and that at the beginning most of the AI's would be doing some odd behaviors until they learn that the behaviors are hurtful or just not useful.

If you're using Firefox, go to page about:config and search for network.http.pipelining.maxrequests - raise the value of that.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Wow! The Environmental design one was AWESOME! I love to see concept art and how a level goes from the drawing board (or napkin sketch I should say) to modeling, texturing, and in game. You guys should definatly do more of these.

I belive the that BNet servers only allow a maximum of two requests at a time. I believe it's a server-side thing, not a client setting =P Some websites allow as many downloads as you want, some allow one or two =P

Fac Fortia Et Patere

Are these able to be used in Keynote on OS X, or do I have to load up Office:08? I really hope I can read them sometime soon.
