Heyyo,

Err.. I think I accidentally voted no cause I got confused, lol, sry. once I got home I voted yes. :p

Anywho, yeah, most of the calculations are server-side, so hacking in HaloPC is pretty slim, it's usually just people using the cheapest guns they can see.

Gotcha. Makes sense. Actually, the times I played Halo on-line were quite good and I enjoyed myself. I just don't play MP enough to be good at it and it's weird how single player skill doesn't translate into multi-player games all that well. I finished Halo 2 in no time, then went on line and promptly got my butt kicked. At least I didn't finish dead last/.

Peace,
Mark

Heyyo,

Yes, playing against AI and playing against players is 2 different worlds. Remember, most ai's so far don't refect how humans react in combat. The closest thing I've seen is the CSSbot. Acts pretty human like once you disable their nade throwing, but they still don't truly caputre how a human player acts as they usually don't move in combat.

Plus, I suck at FPS games using thumb sticks rather than a mouse/keyboard combo. Also it has to do with the fact that most people I end up playing against are like 15 or so and I'm 35. Still, maybe I'll see if you guys want to play some Halo CE and see how badly I do. Trouble is, I work nights and am only ever on-line around this time, then it's off to bed.

Yes, my good man; I use that tactic as well. It's called common sense, heh. Although some are catching onto that now so it is getting more of a guessing game than a prediction.

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

Sad but true: if you use common sense and wits and your opponents lacks it, you're the cheater. I actually got banned from a server for pulling off mad tactics:

8 vs 8 BG CTF. I went into the blue base and managed to grab the flag. Some blues threw nades down the hole and started chasing me. I went out of the base and back up to its top, using the medkit to heal me. Then I jumped down into the base again, this time taking the front exit. Again II went up to base top, dropped flag, took the sniper rifle and sniped two blues who just went through the teleporter, thinking that I took it myself. Picked flag up again and went through the teleporter, but ran back to blue base hugging the cliff. While hugging the cliff I went all the way around the back of blue base to the dark, shadowy cliff, up the ledge, through the small tunnel, stayed on the ledge after exiting the tunnel, through the next tunnel where the OS is, and hugging the wall until I was close to red base. The blues where furious, calling me hacker, cheater, and was not else. I told them which way I went, but they claimed to have camped those spots and they hadn't seen me - thus I was cheating and got banned.

WoW. That is a lot for a flag capture. Nice tactics.
