I would name my son Ezio Shepard Mactavish Vakarian Arbiter.

why do you have so many glitches and easter eggs? For example, cavemen on sierra 117? the begging grunt on the last level of halo 3? the guy on standoff whos up on the radio tower?
please answer me.

Well Enough Alone...

Ya. That's 3 Easter eggs. There aren't that much more out there. As for glitches, they make complex games with lots of features. Glitches are inevitable. The only reason its seems like there are so many is because they get so much attention. They actually do a really good job testing and fixing glitches even after relies.

You could ask the same question to a lot of other game developers as well. Rareware does it a lot in their games.

I would agree, that it seems like bungie put a lot of effort into easter eggs. So much so that they are not easter eggs in the traditional sense, but extra content they expect you to find and so charge you for the time it takes them to program them into the game. jk. or maybe not.....

Most established game companies do it. Consider the easter eggs as a little reward for going out of your way to look into every nook and cranny of a level.

Glitches are bound to happen with any game. When you are on a strict time table to get a project finished you will have some things fall through the cracks. That is what patches will cover.

Seeing how long Duke Nukem has been in development I think we shall see the first game with no glitches/bugs at launch.

Also, the way games get into the game and glitches come out are very different than each other. Most of the eggs we see are the product of environment designers, who after spending ridiculous amounts of time building a level and giving it polish, eventually decide to have a little fun and drop in one more texture over in the corner, or write something on the boot of the MC, etc.

Most glitches (things like H2 Super Jump) need to be solved by the engineers / programmers. They generally are a specialized case that no one thought of when building the game yet occurred when playing the game. (other glitches are similar to fix. Ex. model lighting in beta)

Anyways, the eggs are a fun reward for spending more time than average playing the game.

I'm sure that we haven't found nearly everything there is to find. It was a long, long time before anyone found that note to one of the programmers wifes on the walls in Pillar of Autumn in Halo 1.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

I shall quote Yatzee.
"If this game [Duke Nukem] doesn't turn out to be histories greatest contribution to Human Culture and the cure to at least one type of cancer, then I and every other review are going to saw it's bollucks off."
lol.

But, I think Bungie just likes to have a little fun. And I love looking for that stuff too, except in Halo 3 where there are so many damned invisible walls that you can't walk 2 feet without running into one.

Because I never had time for a quote.

Rumble Racing's easter eggs were actually part of the game that unlocked more cars...

It's very typical for companies to stick funny little things in games. Most of the times it's a personal touch from the artists and designers or something to give players to search for. I'm sure they all have a little reason behind them... but that'd ruin the fun!

I'm guessing somebody thought they'd resemble Luke with the Cavemen.
