Subject: Someone is trying to Hack my account

Designer of the Coned emblem in Halo Reach

The only clue as to how accounts are hacked that we've been given by victims is that the hacker probably called Xbox support pretending to be the victim to get the account information. If that's possible I'm not even sure, but it's frightening and infuriating how easy someone can get your information aswell as your credit card number, if that's true I mean.

But it looks like you've covered everything, so it'd be much harder for someone to hack your account. However, it has been said that ANY password can be cracked given enough time. Depending on how strong your password is. I suggest doing a little research online on strong passwords, and stay away from password generators. On top of that, regularly change your password as mentioned before.

Better safe than sorry.

Some people are selfish morons. Perhaps if you make an alt which you send to Achronos only then if you get hacked he'll know it is you (via the alt) that is sending him messages and he might be able to help you by perma abnning the real account to avoid it ruining your reputation.

Hmmm, just change your details frequently for a few weeks to minimise any problems.

New Flood the home of all things random

OMG, gaming for the fun of it.

The lengths some people will go to get that armour is mind blowing.

I don't see the attraction myself.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Achronos won't ban any taken account unless it does something against the rules. My account was still active, even though I asked for it to get a permanent ban from Achronos; since he said that he will not ban it unless the user who took the account goes against some sort of rule. I should still have the message(s) on my 'Galoopagoop' account somewhere, I'll look for them and get a direct quote here in a minute.
The quote is below.
Unfortunately, no, I can't ban it, due to security policies. If it is used for something nefarious, it will get banned of its own accord.

Indeed. Although, I wouldn't just do it for a few weeks. I would do it for as long as you are using an account. Changing everything on an account seems like a lot of work; but it only takes a few minutes.
Edit: Got a quote from Achronos.

I'm so good at Halo, Chuck Norris has me as an avoided player.

Ever wonder how often this happens to Bungie employees? I would think the flaming head is more desirable than recon. And if ti did happen, they probably wouldn't advertise the fact.

Also, change it regularly.

WLID account management also allows users to set a security question. Try not to choose one that can be answered with a little research or trickery.

For example, if you choose "what is your first pets name?" as your security question, don't respond and answer that question in a Flood topic. Mother's maiden name, place of birth and other questions can also be researched and found using the Web.
*Takes notes*

Hmmmm, yes, this is very helpful information Recon. I shall use this. . .

>.>
<.<

I think security questions should be defined by the person signing up so that they can make it so specific that only they know the answer.

By the way Duardo,. What's the name of your first pet? I like animals. Also I think my credit card has strange numbers on it, can you tell me your credit card number so I can compare the two?

Ok that is scary, I can'r believe people would go to such lengths on just the suspicion of having a freaking armor perm.

And that is why I could care less about Recon, and more about Commando armour.

Hello.

Sorry to hear, Duardo. Considering you are one of the only people who actually help on the forums, that is a little sad. Hopefully, everything will be alright.

Good luck, and I hope everything works out.

EDIT: This is what I get for not reading the third page....

Well, glad everything worked out.

Just have to watch out, and be prepared for this stuff in the future.

I don't believe I'm only one of a few people who help out. I see plenty of people all the time helping out newer members. I'm nothing special.
